Stardate:2406.04.20 (USS Nimitz - Ready Room -CO- Captain Devan Sash - 1312) Slythewald stuttered and sputtered through his explaination leaving Sash with the impression that there was much still to be said. He sat back in his chair and looked at the Ensign for a minute. "Serving on a Cardassian ship?" he asked. "That's a very unusual thing for a human, considering the Cardassians and the Federation have been at odds for such a long time. How is this possible? I get the impression that you're keeping something from me Ensign, and that does not make me feel very comfortable putting you in a position of responsibility such as security." (reply Slytherwald) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.04.20 (USS Nimitz – Outside engineering – TAC/SC Ensign Kateb – 1326)   Onyx was back and forth from everywhere on the ship. The warp core was held into a tractor beam and slowly coming back. She was putting security details on various places near engineering when an officer came close to her. She couldn't hear him but somehow she knew.   "Ensign Slytherwald reporting for duties, m'am!" -Tom said with a relief as he waited Kateb to respond.   “Welcome on board. You better get settled first Ensign Slytherwald... who knows when things are going to change from quiet to chaos. Once you are, come back to the bridge and start your duty shift. Unless you are ready.”   (Reply from Slytherwald) (Posted by Laurence)   Stardate:2406.06.20 Mission: A Daily Grind, Day 1 Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – Sickbay - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid & Nurse Janet Sanders -1123) With all the excitement aboard the ship and in sickbay, the time was going by pretty fast. Kinkaid had just finished his reports when he decided to take one last sweep through the biobed area making sure his patients were taken care of before heading out to Ten Forward for lunch. Kinkaid was amazed with his staff’s quick treatment measures for the patients in their recovery. Nurse Janet Sanders was finalizing a few medical tests while completing her checklist on a crewman’s medical report when Kinkaid made his presence known to the department. Janet was trying not to make it obvious that she was eyeing her boss in a seductive way, but she couldn’t resist the temptation to gaze a little longer. Kinkaid’s sense of purpose, decisive order and stature was what Janet looked for in a companion or in friendship. She straighten her uniform to make a good impression for Kinkaid as he approached. “Nurse Sanders, how is the patient doing?” Kinkaid said in a concern manner. Janet brushed her blonde shiny hair away from her green beautiful eyes to get a better look at Kinkaid and said, “The crewman’s vitals are normal and is ready to return back to duty, Sir.” Kinkaid looked at the PADD report with interest knowing his head nurse’s work was top notch. “Hmm, good work, but the only suggestion I have, Janet, is that the crewman needs to return tomorrow for a follow-up exam to conclude his treatment for his sprain back. Other than that the patient is good to return to duty.” Janet was in awe of the decision made and released the patient for duty with orders to return for a follow-up exam. She like the way Kinkaid’s mind worked. To possess such decision making skills made Janet weak in the knees. Kinkaid paused for the moment without thinking before leaving and said, “Janet would you like to join me for lunch and discuss business one on one?” Suddenly the sound of a PADD hitting the floor shattering broke the silence in sickbay. Janet gasp for air blushing when she realized the PADD in her hand had fallen. The request from Kinkaid catch her off guard. Janet did not know how to approach the question. Kinkaid went up to Janet and asked her again in reassuring voice. “Will you join me for lunch in Ten Forward?” Janet hesitated in her reply. “Doctor, I ... do ... not know.” Kinkaid held Janet’s right hand trying to comfort her and responded, “Janet, all I’m asking is if you would join me for lunch to discuss these medical reports.” Janet with a side of relief said, “I’ll be delighted to join you for lunch, Doctor.” “Please, call me BigWill.” Kinkaid asked to ease the formality of being on duty. Janet and Kinkaid exited sickbay and headed for Ten Forward to dine on knowledge and passion. (Reply none) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – Ten Forward - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid & Nurse Janet Sanders -1202) Ten Forward was alive with crewmembers having their daily luncheon; catching up with the latest ship gossip while corresponding with friends and co-workers on ship activities. Kinkaid and Janet Sanders entered the room and proceeded to a table. Kinkaid did the gentlemanly gesture by sliding the chair from the table and let Janet in between guiding it back towards the table as she sat comfortably preparing to receive her drink from the yeoman waiter. As he sat in his seat, Kinkaid began the conversation. “So, Janet, the reason why I asked you to join me for lunch is to discuss the recent improvements with the medical staff in sickbay. I like to get your suggestion on this without the burden from the others in sickbay.” Janet was sipping her drink listening to her boss in deep concentration. Janet noticed that Kinkaid was not telling her the “real” reason behind the occasion. She tried to delay the response in order to get Kinkaid to spill his guts. Kinkaid was puzzled by Janet’s silence. He hoped this was not too awkward of a moment for her. Kinkaid realized that this was short notice, but it was just lunch. He continued on by saying. “Janet, your performance in sickbay with the patients and your interaction with the other staff members is outstanding. I’ve never seen so much dedication in one person before.” Janet was still sipping her drink when she heard the good remarks from Kinkaid and replied. “I’m a lost for words, Doctor. I really do appreciate your kind thoughts on my performance. If help is needed, I’m there. That’s what I do.” Kinkaid felt a bit awkward himself, but responded nevertheless. “Please call me BigWill since we are off duty for the moment. “ Kinkaid pleaded. Janet was still not fully confident on saying his name, but gave in and said, “Uh... okay, BigWill?” “Well, since the ice has been broken let’s start with lunch. I’m starvin’!” Kinkaid said in his southern draw humor. The waiter came over with a tray that had two plates of food. Working long hours in sickbay brought Kinkaid and Janet’s appetite to high levels of hunger when they saw the mouth-watery chicken salad coming towards them. Janet was feeling a bit at ease with Kinkaid. She did not realize how kind, polite and entertaining her boss was when not on duty. It was refreshing to know that Janet had someone she could turn to when she needed to talk about something either professional or personal. Janet and Kinkaid were starting to enjoy each other’s company while eating their lunch. Kinkaid overheard a conversation from the adjacent table and started to laugh out loud. Janet, too, found it amusing and started to chuckle and giggle. Then the sound of glass breaking against the floor echoed through Ten Forward. Janet looked around to see where the sound came from and then turn to Kinkaid. (Reply None) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – Ten Forward - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid & Nurse Janet Sanders -1203) Janet turned a different shade of color when she quickly identified where the broken glass sound originated. Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid, the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Nimitz, had ingested a piece of chicken which became lodge in his windpipe of the throat causing him to choke turning his face a shade of Andorran blue. There was no time to transport to sickbay. Janet had to act fast. She remembered her training from Starfleet Medical and proceeded to perform the Heimlich maneuver for the choking victim. Janet immediately aided Kinkaid by standing him upright on his feet and placed her arms around his chest/waist area. She formed a fist with one hand and cuffed it with the other to begin the inward and up motion to dislodge the foul. Kinkaid is a tall muscular guy, which was a challenge for Janet to overcome. “Come on damn it! Come on!” Janet said using every ounce of strength to press into Kinkaid’s chest area. Kinkaid was helpless and running out breath. Janet needed some leverage to aid her in the procedure. The table was all she could think of. Janet elevated herself onto the tabletop and began the compressions again. Janet was not known for her ingenuities, but the idea was working. “1…2…3…4…5…again 1…2…3…4…5…” Janet was counting aloud as she press against the chest cavity of her boss hoping for a sign. Exhaustion was starting to set in, but Janet was not going to give up. She needed him. The ship needed him. ~ To die on a piece chicken would be a Vulcan’s way of expressing a joke. ~ Janet thought, as she was about to give Kinkaid’s chest one last good beating. Janet took a long, deep breath and balled up her fists with every shred of strength that her body could muster and moved in for the final blow. Janet’s fists struck Kinkaid’s chest with the force that would have resuscitated a heart attack patient. The sudden forceful blow caused something, which made Kinkaid start to convulse. Janet moved back as Kinkaid grabbed the chair to hold himself while attempting to cough up the piece of chicken. “Err…uuunn… Err… uuunn!!!” Kinkaid hatching finally gaining the upper hand for one more attempt to cough. With his body weaken from lack of oxygen; Kinkaid gave it his all to free the chicken piece. “Err…uuunn…Err… uuunn… thooomp!!” Kinkaid collapse to the floor in agony of pain with the last thrust of breath to release the foul in his throat. Janet rushed to her boss’s side with her medical tricorder and began her scans. Kinkaid’s vitals were weak, but in the safe range; just enough for transport. Janet tapped her communication badge. =^= Computer, two to beam directly to Sickbay, now! =^= There bodies faded into the air. (Reply None) (Posted by Nathan M. His stomach grumbled again. He caught sight of Nessa and Jennah, already at a table. Jennah's face lit up and she began to call out, "Captain, captain, captain." Sash couldn't help but smile. He often missed his own children, now long dead. But for some reason this one held a place in his heart. Nessa got up and gave Sash a hug and a kiss on the check as he approached. Jennah gigled at the act. "You are being silly today, dear," Vanyssa told Jennah. It didn't seem to phase the girl at all. She was too excited by her visitor. Sash saw Vanyssa look down and blush. He thought it was curious, and then as he sat he noticed the small box on his plate. "Did you already order me a box lunch?" Jennah broke out into another peel of laughter. She almost couldn't contain herself. Suddenly he thought that this was a significant gift. He looked up at Nessa and smiled, with a curious look on his face. "Uhmm..... It's thankyouforthetimeyoupunchedriaforinsultingmyhonor." She turned a brighter red. "It just stands out in my mind as an important date and needed some commemorating. It was a happy moment for me.... even if we both ended up with punitive duties as a result of it." Vanyssa leaned forward on her elbows. "Jennah, let this be a lesson to you. You never punch the Andorian Ambassador no matter what the bas.... ergh... never mind. It's just not a good idea to be hitting Ambassadors." She grinned. Sash laughed out loud. The picture of the Andorian Ambassador looking amazed at the fact that Sash had stuck him was something he'd never forget. The real funny thing about that was that later the same Ambassador came back to him and told The then Ensign Sash how much he appreciated finaly meeting a worthy ally. "It was almost worth all of the plasma conduits I scrubbed," he said. then he turned to Jennah and looked semi-seriious. "Of course, it was wrong to hit somebody, but he should never have compared you to an Orion sex slave." They both laughed. "That's probably when I first told you about my family." There was an uncomfortable moment of silence before someone came and took their order. "Do you remember Palmer?" Sash asked. Vanyssa nodded. She noticed that Sash still hadn't opened the small present. She really wished that he would. "That guy was so squeemish about everything. I'll never forget when you told him he had a change of roommates and then put a petrie dish of an Antarean Slime Mold in his bunk." Vanyssa grinned. "I was really bad, Jennah." She said laughing. "Your hiding in the jeffries tubes was nothing compared to some of the stunts I pulled...I swear Commander Harrison was going to pull her hair out the one time I was called before her for spiking the synthehol at the Ambassadorial Dinner..." Vanyssa then did let loose laughing. Sash was about to take a drink of water and spit it out when he started laughing. "And then the Arconian Ambassador couldn't stop drinking it. I thought for sure he was going to have to go through some form of rahabilitation." Their food arrived about them. Sash looked down at the food with hunger in his eyes and began to eat. "Aren't you going to open your present?" Jennah asked, in her typical precocious way. Vanyssa glared down at her daughter who suddenly seemed so unassuming. Sash had no idea what he was in for. "If this was memory day, I was kind of afraid that it might explode on me. But, if you insist, here goes." He picked up the box and looked it over very cautiously. He raised an eyebrow and loked sideways at Jennah. He took a quick sniff at it and shook it by his ear. "Seems safe. Maybe I should use my tricorder, just in case." He felt a kick at his shin under the table. "Okay, okay, here goes nothing." He carefully began to lift the corners of the wrapping paper. This was not part of the joke. He always unwrapped presents slowly. His thought was tht it increased the anticipation and subsequent enjoyment of the gift, at the same time causing the giver more anxiety. People often thought he did it to save the paper, but then he would crumple up the paper, making virtually unreusable. Finally, the gift unwrapped, he opened the box. He couldn't believe what he saw. He looked up at Nessa, disbelief in his eyes. "How did you come by this?" Vanyssa grinned. It was an Angosian war medal for bravery on the front line, and loyalty to the group you fought with. "Uhmm, it wasn't quite legal, to say the least." And then she smiled. " It took a lot of communications through the Angosian government to even get them to let me buy one.... let alone one from someone you served with in the War." She looked down at her hands. "And I won't tell you how much latinum it cost!" She said, taking the box out of his hand, and pinning the medal to his uniform. "It's pretty," Jennah said, and it was: a shining thing, made of flashing gold, twinkling diamonds and deep blue sapphire clusters. "I've been trying to track it down since you first got command... It took that long." She said with a grin. She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek and then bit into a piece of bread. He stared at the medal with awe. After the wars, all war artifacts were destroyed or at least banned. The Angosian people wanted no recollection of such a violent time, including their own soldiers. He had a feeling the price was more than just monetary. "I don't know what to say." It was then that he realized what she had just done. He put his hand up to his check and grinned. "Thank you." Then he looked at Jennah. "Young lady, I bet you knew something about this didn't you?" Jennah nodded happily, sipping on her 'shirley temple' drink and then stuffed an 'egg roll' into her mouth. Vanyssa found them to be revolting things, but she supposed that they were an acquired human taste. Jennah had always loved them, and she had once told Vanyssa it was because her human father had a taste for them. "How is it that my Intelligence Officer did not inform me of this," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "The First Officer outranks me and she said if I told she wouldn't let me see the battle bridge, or the regular bridge for that matter. Is it true that all Captains have fish in their ready rooms ? What does a ready room look like ? Why is it called a ready room and not the Captain's office ?" She asked, with more of her very curious questions. Vanyssa smiled fondly down at her daughter, then caught Sash's eye and winked. "Actually that's a good question, the last one. Why do they call them ready rooms ?" She wondered outloud, twirling fettuchini onto her fork and then using the bread to chase some of the 'alfredo' around. It was a very cheese sauce, and Vanyssa found it divine. Sahs loved it when Jennah rattled off a seried of questions like that. She was a very curious child, and he appreciated curiosity. "Well, not all captains have fish in their ready rooms. I don't. Maybe you'd like to come and see for yourself. As for why it's called a ready room, well, it's where the captain gets ready, and can be ready to take command at a moments notice." Sash wasn't actually sure that that was the whole reason, but he had hoped it would be enough for Jennah, and Nessa for that matter. As they finished their meals their came a call from his comm badge. =^=Captain, we are approaching Starbase Geneva.=^= The captain looked disappointed. He looked up at Jennah and Nessa, who had similar looks on their faces. "I'm sorry ladies, but duty calls." As he stood, he picked up the small box and looked at it with awe. "I can't get over it. This is the most amzing thing I've gotten in very long time. Thank you." He leaned down and gave Nessa a kiss on the cheek. Then he held her chin between his fingers and gave a quick peck on the lips. Jennah giggled, and he turned his attention to her. "And you young lady," he said, "don't forget my invitation to my ready room. I may need a little help with the decor. Thank you for a most enjoyable lunch." With that he turned to leave 10 forward. (reply any, none) (posted by the incredible Al Muir and the pretty cool Melinda Martin :-) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – Sickbay - Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid & Nurse Janet Sanders -1210) Since the emergency transport, Janet ordered the medical staff to maintain their duty stations while she tended to Dr. BigWill Kinkaid. Janet had some pull with the medical staff, being the head nurse does have its perks. Janet was running every test, every scan she could think of to make sure her boss, her new found friend was going to be comfortable and well. Kinkaid was a bit faded and disorientated as he laid on a biobed being scanned and probed. All the scans and tests came back negative to any medical danger. The results gave Janet a sense of relief that her proficient medical schooling paid off. Janet administered a low dose sedative to Kinkaid to ease his grogginess. She gazed upon her boss with a caring sense to do more, if needed. Janet could not help, but to remember the companionship and thoughtfulness of Kinkaid back in Ten Forward before the incident. She has never been close to anyone before. The loving humorous personality of her boss made Janet feel even closer to Kinkaid than she wanted. No one in his or her wildest dreams could have put two individuals so far apart in their frame of mind together. Kinkaid opened his eyes and found a blonde haired green eye female wearing a Starfleet nurse’s uniform looking at him with a sweet smile of gratification. “Well, Nurse Sanders, I hope this is your way of getting the upper hand in the relationship. I’m here at a disadvantage to your sweetness.” Kinkaid said in his southern draw jokingly with smirk of a grin as he struggle a bit to sit up on the biobed. “Doctor, I’m glad you’re alright. It seems that you had a bout with a piece of chicken.” Janet said with a glimmer of humor in her facial expression. Kinkaid was feeling his chest, as it was still sore to move any further, realized what she said and turned his head looking around the biobed area seeing if any of the crewmembers were noticing his current predicament. Janet moved in closer to be in whispering distance to Kinkaid and said, “BigWill, your secret is safe with me. The answer to your second question that you might ask is yes. Yes, I would like to continue this newfound friendship we’ve started, if it is alright to do so.” Kinkaid was astounded on how beautiful and sweet Janet was in this awkward time of weakness. “Janet, trust me when I say this that it is the happiest moment of my life that you are here to be part of and yes, I do want to continue this friendship we’ve started.” Kinkaid whispered to Janet into her ear while in taking her sweet smelling fragrance. Janet’s face was blushing after that honest thought. Kinkaid elevated himself up from the biobed standing for a moment to gain his composure. Janet cleared her mind and said, “Doctor, your scans came back negative. You should take it easy until your soreness subsides. So, returning to duty is advisable, Sir.” Kinkaid looked at Janet as to say something, but just gave her a big smile of appreciation for a job well done in his hour of need. Life could not have been any better to Kinkaid, but it came to a dismal halt for the time being as he look upon his desk in his office to see the stacks of medical reports and requests PADD’s infesting and multiplying. ~ A doctor’s work even if he is injured is never done. ~ Kinkaid thought to himself. Their time together was absolutely fabulous, they were having a great time even though work had been boring. Nothing really happened during work and he got to where he looked forward to getting off each and every day. Simbel would perform like he was suppose to during all the training situations that had been staged during their trip to Geneva. As it was he still did not run across anything that gave him any worry about if he could accomplish what was asked or needed of him. He had volunteered to arrive at work early as the one he was relieving had something to do personally. The person had wanted to get a really good head and Simbel was only glad to be of some help to him. He and Katie had a very good evening and he looked forward to returning after work to see how her day had gone. The day had gone beautifully as they were coming in to orbit Starbase Geneva before they would be given permission to dock with it. As he slowed the Nimitz and slowly brought them to a halt in a orbit with the Station, he could feel that the captain was relieved that they had actually arrived in one piece. Simbel had not believed it, but, he actually was relieved also that they arrived. He did not know that he was also doubting whether or not they would actually make it. "Captain we have arrived and are in orbit with Geneva" Simbel informed Sash which nodded to him. "Ensign Tannag," he said, "open hailing frequency." "Hailing frequencies open, captain." Tannasg replied "This is Captain Devan Sash of the USS Nimitz, to Starbase Geneva." (reply Wilson) "Commander Wilson, we have finally arrived," Sash replied to him with a relieved tone. "We will be initiating some repairs soon, including a re-polarization of our warp coils. I just wanted to keep you informed." Simbel typed in a message to Katie, 'we have arrived my love'. (reply from Sash, any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.06.20 (Starbase Geneva – FO’s Office – FO – Commander John Wilson – 12:55) Walking into his office John paused for a moment, the lights were dimmed and there were two people one sitting in the seat and one standing reading one of his books. Coughing to announce his presence he activated the lights to full power. The man in the chair was handcuffed and had short grey hair and a grey beard the other was young about mid thirties with slicked backed black hair. “Ahh Commander Wilson, nice of you to come down,” John raised an eyebrow slightly in shock that the people knew his name despite him not knowing theirs. “Im Earl Partridge and this is Commodore Joseph Blackford, I do believe you and the commodore had a meeting earlier and personality in your career,” John began to clench his fists, Blackford had attempted to kill LoDona and even been guilty of the murder of 7 people. Blackford was the head of covert operations for the federation, however since his failure Blackford had gone on the run. “It appears commander we are not the only ones that were after the Commodore. Starfleet Intelligence has disavowed his existence and are attempting to kill him.” On that Blackford span around and stood up to face John. His breath made John’s stomach turn, attempting to not let his distaste out Blackford began to speak. “Commander I do believe the adage is the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” Blackford stated smiling, John resisted the temptation to punch Blackford there and then. As he pushed Blackford back down to his seat he grabbed him around the side of the neck and spoke. “One day Blackford you will get your comeuppance and I will be there to see it,” John stated letting him go and then turning to face Earl. “What does he have to do with me!” John stated. “Well commander this is a pad containing your new orders shortly to be confirmed by Admiral LoDona,” John paused for a moment, it was not a regular occurrence to receive prior notification of orders. “In essence Commander you are herby removed from Geneva and reassigned,” John looked up the first paragraph stated in practically the same words as he had just uttered. “Also you are going to be reassigned to USS Nimitz, however officially as XO but also as Chief Of Intelligence on the Nimitz,” “Intelligence but why?” John had to enquire; it did make sense for him to drop from FO to XO just to take an intelligence post. “Well Commander you have done certain things for us in the past that have been noticed and noted. You are the primary recruiting for Intelligence, young, good health, mentally strong and resistant to torture. Plus the most interesting thing you managed to resist Dominion torture when they captured you so with a little grooming welcome aboard. Coming to our second and third problem, Joseph here. Commodore Blackford has been quite troublesome however LoDona has granted him amnesty for a while at least until he has finished assisting us,” John raised an eyebrow as he sat down reading the pad. Blackford’s voice began to speak replacing the very American tone of the other man. “Since Freedom has broke from the fleet we have still been relying upon Starfleet Intelligence officers. However it is deemed now that there is too much danger of certain misinformation being communicated and problems arising from that. Therefore im going to help you lot learn to spy the old fashioned way. If you enemy is big and you are small then you are mobile and he is slow. Therefore this new group for freedom is going to be small and based on a more cell based structure rather than the traditional Starfleet model. That’s why Wilson you are getting stationed to the Nimitz, it is a mobile ship so therefore difficult to pinpoint you and the perfect location to gather intelligence. Where better than on the Frontier to collect info?” John nodded it was all a lot to absorb in a short time; nodding Earl took up from there. “Blackford is going to remain at out disposal and act as your Handler, as a secondary objective cell one has deemed that Captain Sash might prove a problem. You understand he was held in that mirror universe for some time and we have had a recent state of our mirror universe captives from the Nimitz coming back changed. Therefore we are concerned about the good Captain’s Loyalties, so as a third objective you are to keep an eye on him and if you notice any strange behaviour then act accordingly. Do you understand?” “Of course, act as XO of the Nimitz, Gather intelligence, Keep Blackford informed about events, Keep a desecrate eye on Captain Sash and in essence attempt to stay alive,” On that the two men looked at each other and then turned back to him. “We didn’t stay anything about staying alive Commander,” John took a deep breath, and then smiled. "Sounds like fun," He stated as the two men smiled as well, smiles were always to deceiving. He already knew how she was going to react; this was not going to be fun. "Girls where is your mother?" John asked Beth and Ella. The two girls looked at each other and frowned. "Mum is in the bedroom. She got a communiqué from Grandmum and it was bad." Ella said, frowning. Beth nodded. John let his face drop; the worst thing was the girls would immediately be able to sense he was uneasy. The curse of having empathic children was you could never lie to them. "Right, you two ill go speak to your mum," John stated smiling at his girls and tapping the girls on the head. Entering the room he smiled at Michaella despite the tears running down her eyes. "Honey what is wrong?" Michaella looked up, at John. "My father is dead. He died from a heart failure. My Mum is ...not taking it well." She narrowed her eyes at John. "You look guilty. What is wrong." "Hunny, im sorry about your father," John stated sitting on the bed and then rubbing his hands on his trousers. "Also I know this is the wrong time but I have been reassigned," "Where?" She asked, and then, exploding. "WHY?!!?!?!" "I’ve been reassigned to the USS Nimitz, Also im assuming Intel role and executive officer," John stated. "But my term of me going is that you can come if you want other wise I do not go," John stated. Michaella narrowed her eyes. "Tell me about the Nimitz." She said, blowing her nose on his hankie. "And why Executive? What is an executive Officer?" "Well the Nimitz is a Sovereign class vessel, there are other children that the girls can play with. It is in a way a promotion, and Executive officer is in essence a different form of FO. The FO deals with the crew and the ships operations, the XO mainly concentrates on Tactics and the ships operations as part of the fleet. Ill in essence by the Captain's left hand instead of right as I used to be," John stated smiling. "It will be good for me plus will give me more time with you and the girls and as I understand the Nimitz needs a counselor," Michaella nodded, not really listening. "Where is the ship? Can I see it before making my decision?" Michaella seemed somewhat subdued, after the bad news. She should have been ranting and screaming, instead she was behaving almost rationally. "The ship is undergoing repairs attached to Geneva. I will have to sort out you and the girls vesting it. However the Intelligence role is not optional however the posting to the Nimitz is if you don’t want me to take it I wont. You and the girls are more important," Michaella shook her head; she didn't have any attachments to Geneva. "Do they need a doctor too?" "We can ask," John stated smiling. "I was not expecting this response I have to say hunny but im so happy you are prepared to accept it," Michaella shook her head. "There is nothing for me here, why should it matter where I go?" And she began to cry again, over the death of her father. "I don't want the girls put into any danger, John." She mumbled. "Darling you have nothing to worry about, remember im going to be the Intel officer how is any danger going to get near the girls if I know when to doge it," John stated winking and brushing her hair back. She shook her head, again. Ever since dinner the other night, her hair had changed from white to black, like a typical betazoid. She thought she was ugly, now. "I don't know how you want me, I'm so ugly." She began to sob again. "Dear, I loved you the first time I met you and your soon to be my wife I would not exactly be staying with you if I didn’t want you would I," John stated rubbing the tears again. "You are a amazingly beautiful lady whom I love considerably and who has granted me two lovely girls," The girls peeked around the corner just then. "You aren't scared anymore." Beth said. Ella nodded. "Why were you scared?" Beth inquired. "Well ladies we are all moving house," John raised an eyebrow was house the actual definition. "Well from Geneva to a ship, you know the big ship connected to Geneva that is getting repaired?" Beth nodded; anything to do with ships fascinated her. Ella shook her head. "Can we go see it??" Beth was practically hopping up and down. Ella, the more practical just looked at John. "Why are we moving? Did you make the Captain Romulan mad at you?" "We are moving because the admiral wants me to help the Captain of the Nimitz out. Im going to be working in a similar job. We will all be going to visit soon," Ella glared even further. "You aren't telling the entire truth." "Ella!" Her mother said. Ella turned defensively. "Well, he isn't. Why so sudden?" John shrank his eyes a little; if he could not fool two 12 year olds what chance did he stand against a hardened telepath. "Well im going to become a intelligence officer," "What does that mean?" Beth asked. "Like the ones that came to hurt Mum." Ella said, her voice dead pan. : Gabriella. Her mother spoke telepathically. ::That is enough:: "No it isn't, Mum. They hurt you and you were so scared for such a long time. I don't want Dad to be like them." John practically took a step back and looked at Michaella, " What happened?" Michaella tried to blow it off. "Something happened on the starbase I was on previously. It was how I ended up on the other side of the galaxy and with a commission in Starfleet. I thought you were briefed." She finished. "No one was briefed, can you tell me why?" John then turned to the girls. "No your Dad is not going to turn into a nasty person. What happened?” "Hum, yes." She looked down at her hands, and then turned bright red. "Theguyiwasdatingturnedouttobeadrugdealerandaslaver." She finished, sobbing and in a rush. "And they made me help him to catch him...and then sent me here." "Im sorry hunny," Pausing John turned to the girls. "Ella Beth you should know I will never hurt your mum like they did," Beth nodded and Ella just frowned. "They hurt Mum and scared her, and sent us here." Ella finished. "Why, and how do you know you won't be like that too?" She demanded, showing how much older she was than her sister in many ways "Because im different I have never done anything that I have been ashamed off and if I did that I would be ashamed. Plus if I ever did anything to hurt you or your mum I would not be able to live with myself. I will promise never to hurt you all," "However I do need to go speak to Vladek, I mean Captain Rofellian to tell him about my new orders. I will be back soon girls," John stated smiling and kissing his future wife on the cheek. The girls ran after their father, looking at him, hoping he would be back soon, Especially Beth who wanted to see the new ship (Reply None) (Posted By Richard and Mel) Stardate:2406.06.20 Mission: The Daily Grind Mission, Day 1 Stardate 2406.06.20 NRPG just when you thought it was safe to go into your quarters !!!! RPG (Starbase Geneva – FO’s Quarters –SFI & ACOUNS/ACMO – Lieutenant Michaella Kirien, Commodore Joseph Blackford & Earl Partridge – 13:05) Earl and Joseph walked along the long corridor the meeting with Wilson had gone well however there was some other business on the cards. Earl reached his location and stretched his hand forward pressing the door chime. As the door opened a lovely Betazoid answered. Smiling Earl spoke. "Mrs. Wilson?" Michaella glared at them in shock and slammed the door closed, locking it. "Counselor Kirien to Security. There are intruders outside my Quarters." She said, shaking. The one that disappeared for weeks and months without a word? Yeah, the station is going to continue quite well with him. Earl turned to Blackford, "That was impolite any one would think we were not liked," Joseph grinned intently. "Shall we enter Mr.," Joseph enquired. "But of course, however I always find it comical the first reflex is to call for security," Earl stated grinning and then overriding the lock on the door. "Mrs. Wilson, do calm down we are here to talk," Michaella screamed as the door opened, and her girls came running out. Michaella stood in front of them, shielding them behind her, pointing a phaser at them. "Get out." She spoke steadily. "Ella, Beth, go into the bedroom and lock the door." Michaella ordered. "Good god woman any one would belief we were coming to get you, however im aware you are familiar with Commodore Blackford," Earl stated. "He's a murderer." Michaella declared. "He killed a young woman on the Cochrane, among other people. A young telepath." Michaella finished, glaring down her phaser. ::JOHN! HELP!!:: Michaella screamed telepathically hoping it would reach someone. "GET OUT." She said, shooting at Blackford and hitting his shoulder. "That was stun. Shall we ramp it up?" She asked. Earl grinned and remained stationary, looking down at Blackford Earl smiled.. "You never could figure out how to duck," Turning to Michaella Earl spoke softly. "Dear Doctor, do put down the phaser before you do some one some harm. Im here only to discuss with you. Your future husbands reassignment," Michaella frowned, hearing the truth behind his words. "And him?" She asked. "He should be in custody." She said gesturing with her phaser. "He will kill me and my children. I won't let him." And with that she shot Blackford again. Earl raised his gray eyebrow and smiled, "Now I understand why Mr. Wilson is attracted to you feisty aren’t you. Blackford is under my supervision and he no longer works for the federation he works for us however. Since a majority of us want to shoot him as you obviously do I don’t know how much use he is going to be," Earl stated grinning, the whole situation was most comical. Michaella lowered her phaser. "What do you ant to talk about?" She asked, since Blackford was no longer a danger. "He deserves to die. I don't care whom he is working for. That lovely young woman didn't deserve to die." Michaella backed up against the wall, still clutching the phaser. "You stay over there. And your intelligence is wrong. I'm not married to John. My name is Kirien. Dr. Michaella Kirien. And you are?" She asked, at her politest. "Oh my Intelligence is most accurate actually however slightly ahead of time as it would seem. Miss Kirien my name is Earl Partridge, my rank and other details are not important," Pausing for a moment Earl moved over to the couch and sat down. "You are aware that allot scarier people have threatened me with a phaser, there was this one time," Trailing of Earl brushed down his Black suit and then cleared his throat. "We or should I say I now, im here to assess if you are a security risk or not. There is a threat with operatives with Families that they will be to easy to break or they are to easy to turn therefore im here to check you aren’t either and to be honest im impressed," "Impressed by what." She asked, slightly curious. "And I AM TOO scary!" She said, stomping her foot. "Dammit, why do people have to say I'm not scary?" She demanded. "Just because I'm female?" "Impressed that speed you drew that phaser," Michaella nodded. "I take it that you have reviewed my SF Intel record?" She asked, relaxing a bit. "Plus I have encountered people allot scarier in my time. Any way so you two set a date?" "A date?" She asked. "No! He hasn't won me yet. He needs to earn me." And she grinned. "Hum a lady after my own heart, just don’t wait to long I hear the Doctor still likes him. So would you say you trust him?" "The Doctor doesn't stand a chance." She grinned freely. "Yes. It’s very easy to trust someone when a part of you is inside him or her and a part of them is inside you. All the time." "Right, you are aware officially John will only be XO his Intel life cannot be broadcast. Im only here to check if you can be trusted to maintain the secrete," Earl stated. "And what if I can't be?" She asked. "And what of the girls? They know about John too." Michaella knew she didn't want to hear the answer to this. Earl bridged his fingers. "Well your a intelligent girl you can Proberly imagine what we will do if you choose to oppose us," Earl then stopped and brushed his clothes down and stood up. Michaella held the phaser back up, pointed squarely at Earl's chest. "Stay where you are." She commanded. "Oh im not going to come over there Miss," Earl reached inside his jacked and pushed his communicator. Blackford disappeared in the hum of a transporter. "Well for now Lieutenant tat ar," Earl stated waving and disappearing in a bright light. Michaella leaned back against the wall, trembling. They could transport inside the station. Ops probably wouldn't detect them. She moved over to the couch, shaking, scared. "Ah... well, I served onboard that ship for nearly two years, sir. I had a great time, and I made some friends." -It was very true what Tom said. Sash went back to his chair and sat down, "Really? How did you come by the opportunity to serve on a Cardassian ship?" "Well, it is a long story. When I was young, my father, my mother and I used to travel the stars with our own Cargo vessel. There where dark times. We was on a two-days trip to Tholian outpost to deliver some relief suplies down there, when we spotted Cardassian battleship on patrol route. We changed out warp signature to appear just like a simple Cardassian freighter to them. They called use, we told them that we have some problems with our communication system, and they let us go. But our worst problem was that we forgot to change our warp signature back. Our ship was a mixture of Federation and Cardassian technology so it was pretty hard to know that we were Federation. Deeper into the zone, we were attacked by two Maquie raiders. They damaged, and when they saw that we don't have valuable cargo, they damaged us even greater. We were dead in the water, and they perfect target practice. I was scared. I ran from bridge to my room and look to the computer there. One of the Maquie torpedoes hit bridge, there where hull rupture, and all everyone inside the room were dead. I just left crying." -Tom was sad, it was visibly pretty hard talking about his own past "A minute after that, Cardassian Keldon arrived - the same one we tricked. Destroyed one of the attacking raiders, and damaged the others. Then the Cardassians beamed abord the ship. Then they found me. The captain on that vessel, tooked me to Cardassia and raised like his own son. And some years later, he gave me a ship to serve on." -Tom stopped, he knew that this is the hardest point of story "But, month before I joined Federation, my father was killed by his political enemies. Then I decided to join my own kind - to join the Federation." -Tom said with a relief. Sash sat back in his seat and took a deep breath. "I must say that you caused quite a disturbance with that grand enterance. Although it is good to have somebody withworking knowledge of the Cardassians with us, I can't help but feel a little wary. The Cardassians are not known for their ... loyalties." "Well, not all of Cardassians are the same. Yes, maybe some of them are not trustworthy, but I met some of them that can be trusted. And, sir, I am very sorry about that entrance, but Cardassians like always to be well defended, and Federation is not used to have visits from Cardassian union." -Tom stopped a little, he remembered what Sash said a minute ago 'The Cardassians are not known for their loyalties'. Tom felt a little Cardassian himself, so it was harsh words to Tom's heart. But it was definitely true, to some point. "I suppose you're right Ensign," Sash replied. "There are people from the Federation that I'd be hard pressed to trust." He stood up and came round his desk. "Very well then, welcome aboard the Nimitz. From here you'll need to report to Ensign Kateb. She is our acting CSO. She will arrange for your duty schedule. Do you have any questions?" "No, sir. Everything is clear. I'm ready for duty." -Tom felt that good old feeling... "Excellent," Sash said and smiled. He shook Slytherwald's and. "Welcome aboard the Nimitz. You'll find Ensign Kateb on the bridge as we are preparing for a touch procedure in engineering. Please inroduce yourself to her. Dismissed Ensign." What was more concerning was the reassignment; he looked at the view screen displaying Geneva in all its glory spinning silently in space. Smiling at it he thought about his times there and what he was about to do now. He had accepted the placement as SFI; he had operated with them several times now but never really liked them. Primarily they were out for themselves rather than any one else. He had received extra training when he had been on Earth now several years ago, he didn’t know if he was ready for this assignment however he was willing to give it a shot. Stepping out of the turbolift John looked around the Bridge, he felt like the old KGB officers on Russian subs he had read about. He imagined coming in and every one leaving the room, however as it stood no one knew about his new position. This was Proberly the best way at the present moment. He understood that the Nimitz’s previous SFI agent was now gone however the circumstances were not clear. This was something he would need to check up on. Moving to the centre of the bridge he looked around for the Captain’s ready room, he had never stood on a sovereign class before and it was a nice sensation. The three command chairs sat behind him with no one in them; during repairs it was not necessary to have a senior member of the command crew on duty. Looking at the FO’s chair he smiled, he would no longer be sitting on the Right hand of the Captain. He would be taking the left hand side seat smiling he moved over and pressed the door chime for the Captain’s ready room. As he was beaconed in John smiled and placed the pad on the table. “Captain, Im Commander John Wilson,” John stated extended his hand. (Reply Sash) “Captain I have been ordered to take position here on the Nimitz,” As he spoke John began to make his observations about Sash if he was to watch him he needed to know his movements and habits. He was making sure that everything was going the way it needed to without jumping in and doing it all himself. It was nice to have a well-trained crew. He heard a voice behind him and he turned around to see a familiar face standing there. "Captain, Im Commander John Wilson," he extended his hand. Sash broke into smile. "Commander, a pleasure to actually met." He got up from his chair and shook hands. Then a curious look came across his face. "Although you’re timing may not be the best for a visit. We've just had a major problem with our warp core." They stood there for a second, neither seemingly familiar with small talk. "So what do I owe this honour Commander?" John smiled at the odd reception from the Nimitz CO. "Captain," Wilson began, "I have been ordered to take position here on the Nimitz," "Really,” Sash was astonished. "Perhaps we should continue this discussion in my ready room." John followed the Captain into his office as he did he began to make mental notes about the Captain. Build and more importantly walk, it was easy to tell everything about a person by their walk. This Captain had a confident stride and no doubt it was reflected in his personality. (Reply Any) (Posted By Al Muir & Richard Bowes) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Ready Room - Captain Sash & Commander John Wilson- 13:34) Sash led the way into the room. He offered the chair across from his desk to Wilson and went and sat in his own chair. He leaned forward and clasped his hands on the desk, leaning on his elbows. "Okay Commander," he said, "what's going on here." John paused for a moment and then cleared his throat, obviously the introduction im here to watch you would not be the most successful in a new meeting with a CO. Considering his words John spoke. "Well Captain Sash, im assigned to help you in the command duties. I’ve got several years as FO and it was deemed I could be of use to you," Sash looked at Wilson, again his brow furrowed. "May I ask who deemed it necessary? No offense to your experience Commander, but I already have an FO, and a little command experience myself." "It was deemed necessary by the Admiral and other command level officers," John paused for a moment and then considered his position and how he would react in a similar situation. "Also with the break away from the fleet it is deemed that we need to begin forming new Intel communities and the easiest way to do that is with a ship on the move. However that must not go any further Captain," Sash sat back in his chair with that piece of information. He realized that that was a most accurate assemesment. Then a thought crossed his mind. "Which Admiral?" he asked. "LoDona sir," John replied not actually speaking to the Admiral he was on shaky ground however the orders did have LoDona's signature and Blackford was present on Geneva so no doubt he had to approved it along the line. "And you spoke with the Admiral yourself?" John did not let himself look startled at all; keeping his hands open he looked the Captain in the eyes. "The Admiral was busy so it came from his subordinates," Sash leaned forward again and looked intently at the Commander. "Really? And these subordinates would be...? " John paused for one moment and then looked into the Captain's eyes, it was pretty obvious that the Captain was attempting to probe him for information.. It was also becoming apparent that this was not going to be an easy assignment. The CO was cagey and paranoid, never a good combination. "Sir the orders are on this pad if you would like to read it for yourself," John stated placing a pad and sliding it along the desk. Sash looked at the PADD as if it were booby-trapped. Then he cautiously picked it up. He sat back in his seat and read. The Angossian took his time, watching who apparently was his new Executive Officer over the top of the PADD. Finally, he took a deep breath. "And so there it is. I guess it just would have been nice to be informed of this decision personally." Then he stood up and relaxed. "Oh well, I will be meeting with the Admiral tomorrow, I'll be able to take it up with him then." John smiled and then nodded; to be honest at the back of his mind he didn’t have a clue if the orders were legitimate. For all he knew he was walking into a set up. However he would have to do it. If this Captain was a threat he could endanger the entire fleet. "So Captain, im I ok to take duties on the Nimitz?" Sash walked around the desk and sat on the edge. "It says in the orders that you need to finish up your duties on Geneva and then to transfer over at both our mutual conveniences. If you have nothing pressing on Geneva then feel free to make yourself at home, meanwhile." He paused for moment then continued. "After our repairs to the warp core we’ll need to take her out for a shake down. Do you think your business on Geneva will be completed by then?" "My business on Geneva for the mean time is over sir. Until the station needs to relocate I think I will be cleared to take the Nimitz position. If I might return after the shake down to assist in the Geneva transfer and then we will see from there, sir," John stated. Sash nodded and stood to his full height. He offered his hand. "In that case welcome aboard to Nimitz Commander Wilson. Perhaps we can have some time over the next couple of days to get to know each other and I can see what you have in mind for my ship." John smiled and stood up as well, accepting the Captain's handshake John felt a great weight lifted. "Thank you Captain Sash, if there is nothing else I would like to settle in might I speak to your Chief Of Operations to get settled in my quarters. Also sir might I enquire what happened to your previous SFI agent?" Sash chuckled a little. "I killed him. For getting in my way." He got a sudden serious look on his face. Then he smiled again. "Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually, he resigned his commission just recently and is heading home from Geneva. Personal reasons." John paused for a moment, if it had been about 12 hours ago he could have took that as a joke. Smiling on one side he made a mental note to check on the previous agent perhaps he did find out something about the Captain. "Well sir, if there is nothing more I would like to get settled and then meet the crew," Sash could see that Wilson wasn't sure how to take his little joke. He smiled an odd smile, just to keep him wondering. "Absolutely. And if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. Dismissed." “Thank you sir,” John smiled and then turned his back on the Captain, it would be the last time he turned his back on a person again. As Intel it was becoming an impossibility to trust any one especially those that are possible threats. After Wilson left Sash sat back down at his desk. He picked up the PADD and went over the orders once again. Then he looked up at the door that the commander had left through. There was something strange about this situation, and he was determined to figure out what it was. At the very bottom, Zzt could see open space through the emergency force field which had, luckily, activated like it was suppose to. ~At least something on this ship works like it suppose to.~ Zzt thought angrily. =/\=O'Neill to Zzt. She knew that the engineers were planning something, but she hadn't gotten the specifics, she had been busy with something else at the time. The ship had rocked, and she gotten thrown out of her chair. Did that happen befor ethe red alert or were they close to the same time ? She couldn't remember. "Red Alert, the warp core has been ejected, this isn't a drill... Everyone on alert, at your post and report. Captain and First Officer are requested on the bridge. I repeat, this isn't a drill, all security measures are effective right now." She picked herself up off the floor. "First Officer on her way." She shouted, running out of her office for the turbolift to the bridge. She got onto the bridge to see the warp core off the side of the ship. "What happened?" She asked, looking at Falthgood, who seemed to be in intense concentration as his fingers flew over the keys. She listened to the Engineers give their report and took her seat next to Sash. It felt so strange to be on the other side of him! "Well, at least we are at Geneva. They will have the repair facilities to facilitate this." She said, trying to make light out of what happened. (reply: if desired) "Proceed as planned Lt," Zach's hands flew as he brought up even more engineering schematics and diagnostic processes. =^=Initiating powering up of warp core.=^= "Go big daddy," Zach half-whispered as he looked at the readouts. =^=Core at 100% capacity. Ready to divert to warp coils.=^= "Whenever you're ready Lt," =^=Diverting power now.=^= Zach watched the transfer with a dull face, then blinked once as the power spiked. The Warp fields forming around the ship flashed with power, *somehow* and began expanding at an exponential rate. "Oh d*mn," Falthgood said as his fingers flew on his board. He turned his head to look at a power-output meter. =^=Something wrong.=^= "Lt., report. Ensign Tannasg?" The Captain ordered. "Power to the core is growing, to many crystal facets are being hit and the flow is most likely preventing shutdown procedures." Zach said, "Excess power is shunting through the subspace fields, a subspace breach is imminent." he shot back in a cold voice. Without saying another word he turned in the chair again to a schematic of the subspace fields. (reply: Tannag) "Red Alert," the captain called. "Keep the shields down!" Zach barked. The last thing they needed was another subspace field in the equation, he was crunching enough numbers in his head as it was. The ship bucked under him, but Zach had his legs braced against the console frame. With long years of practiced he pulled up a second diagram of the subspace fields around the ship, and started manually entering commands that changed their configuration. "faster, faster..." he breathed to himself. =^=By the Holy Goddess.=^= He flattened the configuration of the subspace fields and watched the power shift positions and get 'fired' off the fields to a further remote area of space. After several seconds the ship stopped bucking, but not nearly enough power had been redirected to account for it. He looked the field configurations over for a moment, and did a quick mental figure as to what they would do if or when they were freshly hit... Rather then spread the power, this configuration would continue to push the power into one small area. It made it more likely to open a subspace rip, but it would be a lot easier to repair once it was all over. It wasn't perfect, but it would do if the power levels suddenly went critical again, and give them a few second margin to get moving. Zach took a deep breath, and turned his head to look at the power output as the Captain ordered a status report and magnification on the screen. Power levels were near zero, and the core was inactive. The beastie had ejected it, no less. Zach took another deep breath and closed his eyes with a nod. "Sash to Engineering, Lt. Zzt report. What's going on down there." =^=Warp core not shut down like it was suppose to. Emergency shut down sequence not engage like it suppose to. Zzt had called in the next shift of engineering early, and the place was literally swarming with engineering teams. People running to and fro. Yelling readings and reports back and forth over the large room. Consoles were opened, conduits exposed, wall panels laid on the floor revealing the conduits and circuitry behind them. In the middle of this maelstrom, his massive form still clearly visible, stood Zzt. Still at the Master Display Console, Zzt's loud deep voice could be heard over the din, yelling orders and curses. Goading his engineers on. "Zzt want those EPS relays replaced! Get impulse manifold purged and replace those burnt gel packs! By Grrdondaa's Hide, Zzt want that interphasic impulse injector replaced before it blow the entire relay system! The plasmonic warp discriminator is out of alignment still! Johnson! What you doing up there!? Cleaning your claws? You should had that done by now!" On and on the Chief Engineer went, a stark contrast to his normal passive demeanor. Someone, or something, had dared mess with HIS engines and he was determined to find our who or what and make sure they paid. He had succeed in putting the fear of Zzt into his crew, and they were running madly to appease the angry Chief. Zzt looked over to see Lt. Falthgood making his way through the mob and mess that Main engineering had become. "About time you showed up," Zzt barked, angrily, "You maneuver, fried the annular plasma injectors. Zzt gonna have to rebuild the damn things. Might as well hang a condemned sign on the warp core and we all move to a Keltoi class." Before Falthgood could respond, Zzt turned away from the acting CSO. "O'Neill! Get you teams suited up and ready to move into position to put those hull plates back on. Zzt can't re-install the core till you done, so move it!!" Zzt then turned his attention back to Falthgood. (Reply Falthgood, O'Neill) "You got clue what went wrong?" Zzt asked Falthgood, "Zzt sure it something no good. Zzt want you go over logs of procedure. Look for anything amiss. If it was error on our part, Zzt gonna skin someone, if it wasn't we need know. It was an interesting sight, Engineering. He had looked in for about a minute before trying to barge his way through, mostly paying attention to the Teddy directing traffic. For some reason, it reminded him of a conductor and his orchestra... All Zzt needed was the black coat and tails. After several near-collisions and one hit-and-run, he finally made it to within vocal distance of the Chief Engineer. "About time you showed up," the bear barked "You maneuver, fried the annular plasma injectors. Zzt gonna have to rebuild the damn things. Might as well hang a condemned sign on the warp core and we all move to a Keltoi class." Zach quirked an eyebrow and crossed his arms as the CEO turned around and barked at someone else. He finally shrugged and continued waiting, he wasn't going to do anything without GODS approval. After a few moments, he turned back and said, "You got clue what went wrong?" Zzt asked Falthgood, "Zzt sure it something no good. Zzt want you go over logs of procedure. Look for anything amiss. If it was error on our part, Zzt gonna skin someone, if it wasn't we need know. Zzt really busy at moment and can't concentrate on finding cause right now. Once we get things back in order, you help Zzt recalibrates the warp drive subspace field parameters?" Zach shrugged, "Ill take a look, I didn't notice anything at the time. I was to busy blowing out plasma injectors by imputing whole new subspace field equations into the matrix to shunt off the extra power being directed through the fields." He quirked an eyebrow, "It might be worth it for you to find out just HOW the hell all that excess power was dumped onto the subspace fields, that isn't exactly a normal side-effect of a power overload." (reply Zzt) The Acting CSO, in a much fouler mood then he was coming in, shoved his way through the crowd of engineers for the turbolift. Once he had finally made it, he barked "Primary Computer Core." (USS Nimitz - Main Computer Core, LCARS computer lab - Lt(jg) Zach Falthgood - 1357) Zach pushed up his shades briefly and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Look, lad, get out of my way NOW or I'm going to remove you myself." His 'opponent', a member of his own department, wasn't letting him by into the LCARS hard-wired terminal because he hadn't been on the schedule. It was something Zach was having trouble reconciling, he had good cause to be there and he was head of the department. The Hard-wired terminal was the only one that couldn't be hacked, not unless it was accessed directly. "Sorry, Sir." That was enough. Zach put the shades back in place, reached out and grabbed the officer by the arms just below the shoulders, and picked up straight up. "Son, you've tried my patience. I'm not head of this department for NO reason, you will step aside and by God you will LIKE it!" He half turned, then dropped the officer beside the door. 'Shades' brought up a finger, "And if you say one more word, your sorry butt will be transferred to engineering as a sewage sub-chief. Get me?" Without waiting for an answer he walked inside the sliding door. Inside were three terminals and another door that lead to the core itself. Zach rubbed his hands together, mostly to relieve his agitation, and sat down roughly on one of the over-small chairs. Without further ado he kicked back and put his boots up on one of the consoles. "Computer, identify Lieutenant Zachary Falthgood. Command Code Alpha Niner Five Charlie." [Lieutenant Zachary Falthgood, identified] "Good, load all computer usage, system logon information, and both the primary and secondary core physical access logs for the last five hours. Also run a search on the logs for all fore-mentioned for the last twenty-four hours and look for inconsistencies or unusual circumstances." [Logs loaded, self-diagnostic of activities will take approximately fifty-five minutes.] "Very well," Zach said, "Also load me a copy of the Engineering over-logs, all engineering console logs, warp core logs, anti-matter consumption logs and the Warp-coil activity logs for the last two hours. Also, any maintenance logs current in the last week on any of the subspace, SIF and IDF and warp coil maintenance processes. I want a list of any corrective action taken, and by whom it was taken." [Logs loaded] "Good, now take all those engineering logs for the last two hours and start running a chronological scan of them... Specifically, meet any computer anomalies with subsequent engineering mishaps, concentrating especially just before and just after the warp-core restart." [Scan will be complete in seven minutes.] "Excellent, you beautiful beastie you." Zach said, "And now for the good stuff. Track every user that logged onto the LCARS retrieval system in the last day, and note if any of them are suspicious or their logins were hacked to cover true logon location and user identity. Cross-reference any anomalous readings with other logins from the same supposed person or location in the last five months." [Tracking, scan will be complete in twelve minutes.] "And last of all, load all said logs onto PADD..." he pulled one out of one of his specially designed pockets and looked at the back of it, "PADD 3298-H, include full security sub-routines for sensitive information." A second passed, followed by [PADD upload complete] "And contact someone in the galley to send me up a coffee." he said as he activated the PADD. However at the moment the children were not here so they would be enough to accommodate him on his own. Leaving the bag on the red bedspread John moved over to the computer behind the desk. Resting both hands on the glass surface John pressed the button for the consol to raise. As it finished rising John pressed the control buttons on the door. “Computer activate security seals, authorisation Wilson159Omega9,” The computer beeped in agreement. John then moved back over to his bed and unzipped the package that he had been given by Earl. Removing the tricorder he began to move it around the room scanning for bugs. As the tricorder gave the green light John placed it next to the computer and activated the encryption protocols. It was a difficult thing to consider that from now on he was going to have to sweep his room daily for bugs and always be keeping one eye over his shoulder. Pressing the computer he entered his access code and then entered the personnel file for the Nimitz crew. Reading slowly over the names he pulled up each of the personnel files. After reaching halfway though the command crew he paused and leant back into his seat. Stretching he looked at the files once more, the Nimitz had 665 crew. This was going to be possibly a long job; on his own it was going to be even more difficult.. Also due to his taking on the XO job he was going to be primarily on the bridge. It was obvious he was going to need help. Changing to the communication he entered his Intel coded frequency and then opened it up. Earl appeared on his screen grinning. =^= Commander, how goes the assignment? =^= Earl requested over the com link, it was always a confusing thing especially since his surroundings seemed out of place. Squinting his eyes he reached over and collected his reading glasses. Looking once more at the surroundings he began to snigger.. Earl was sitting behind a desk in a storage room. The boxes all marked with Klingon markings obviously indicated they knew whom Earl was and that they were therefore cooperating with the freedom Intel. “ Everything is proceeding well, however I think the Captain is not going to be as easy as you had believed. I would like to request that you send some one to give me a hand,” John stated, leaning back into the seat once more. Earl seemed to think for a moment and then he smiled. =^=Ill send just the man soon Commander, was there anything else? =^= “No, Wilson out,” John ended the com, Earl was a peculiar character. He had not been introduced to him via a rank. In all introductions he was Commander first everything else second. However this man was just Earl Partridge, why would a civilian hold such a senior rank to be trusted so implicitly by LoDona. Pausing for a moment he stood up from the desk and moved over to the bathroom. Pushing the tap the water began to flow freely, running his hands under it he threw the water against his face. Looking back up into the mirror he looked at the beard he was growing. Rubbing it he became reminder of the man he did not want to turn into. Collecting the razor he began to shave of the beard he had been growing. As he finally finished he looked back up at the mirror and smiled. He looked nothing like Blackford again. Taking a breath John looked at the reflection, he was not looking different but it was a feeling inside. He was beginning to change, gone was the boy of old. John went to the wardrobe and removed a new uniform. Changing into his new uniform he rubbed down. Pausing once more he looked in the mirror and then moved off. (USS Nimitz – Sickbay – XO/SFI – Commander John Wilson – 14:50) John walked through the sickbay doors and looked around for the CMO. Zzt exclaimed, moving his massive bulk between the two and grabbing them both by their uniform shirts, and lifting them onto their tippy toes. "You no mate in here! "Sash to Winters, I need you on the bridge." (reply Winters) This was getting to be a very bizarre day. (USS Nimitz- Main Engineering- CO- aptain Devan Sash- 1400) Sash ran from the turbo lift to the enterance to main engineering. The sight he came upon was unique, to say the least. Amidst the turmoil of the department recovering from and emergency warp core dump there was a scene that reminded Sash of an antique motion picture he had once seen about a group of security officers known as the Keystone Cops. Zzt loomed over Dema who seemed to be trying to explain something to him with a hydro spanner waving wildly in his hand. Kateb seemed to be caught in the middle of being embarrassed to being furious. He could see the muscles tense in her shoulders. He wasn't sure who or what she was mad at, but he inteended to find out. Sash walked up to the group and tried to get their attention. It was obvius that they were too rapped up in what they were doing to notice him. Finally, in a fit of frustration the Angossian took a deep breath. "THAT IS ENOUGH!!" he shouted as loud as he could. He pointed to Dema. "You, in the hallway." He pointed to Kateb, "Ensgin, please join him." He looked at Zzt who loked like he was about to chew up and spit out a piece of duranium. Zzt shook his head, not buying it. He wagged a claw in front of Dema's face. "You not fool Zzt," He said, looking down his snout at the new officer like an admonishing parent. "Zzt been watching humanoid matting practices. You adult male. She adult female. Adult male only kiss adult female if they want mate. You pull her close so you fully catch scent and she yours. Then you announce you want to mate by kiss." Zzt waved a paw dismissively. "Now, Zzt not mind if you want mate. Zzt hope you have lots of healthy litters of cubs. His head nurse, Janet Sanders, gave him a good bill of health to return to duty at his own pace until full recovery is achieve. Kinkaid could not fathom the mounting medical reports on his desk, but he had to deal with his neglected patients first. While checking a crewman's medical PADD, an accented voice spoke from behind, possibly an English accent; Kinkaid paused for a moment and then turn slightly to see who it could be. "Doctor Kinkaid, I'm Commander John Wilson." Kinkaid looked straight then up slightly. His eyes widen in amazement to see a very tall Starfleet officer standing before him. Kinkaid realized that this officer was a Commander, but did not recognize him at all. Nevertheless he greeted the Commander. "Greetings, Commander. I’m Ensign (sg) BigWill Kinkaid, Chief Medical Officer on the USS Nimitz. What can I do for you, Sir?" Kinkaid inquired upon completion of his introduction. Commander Wilson sensed that Kinkaid was very busy and immediately got down to business. “A pleasure Ensign, now what I would like, if possible, would be a medical. All officers arriving on a new ship should be given a medical. I was just wondering if you had the time, Doctor?” Kinkaid pondered as to what Commander Wilson meant by “medical”? He responded to the Commander’s request. “Of course, Sir, all new personnel arriving on the Nimitz are required to have a medical scan and a bio reading result inputted into the ship's medical log and filed. Since you are new here, walk this way and follow me to my examining bed. Do not worry, Sir, this won’t take too long and it is painless to be sure.” (Reply XO, Commander Wilson) Kinkaid escorted Commander Wilson to the examining bed and asked for him to lie down on the bed so the scans could commence. (Reply XO, Commander Wilson) While initializing the bio scanner, Kinkaid started to strike up a conversation with the Commander by asking some basic get-to-know-you questions that were required to complete the medical. “So, Sir, what ship did you disembark from? What was your last duty assignment? Do you have your previous medical scans from your last physician? Is there anything I should be aware of as in a chronic disease or hereditary element that I as a Doctor would need to know if it should manifest during a high stressed situation which may or may not be important?” (Reply XO, Commander Wilson) (Posted by Nathan M. However with his meetings with Doctors most humours were peculiar. It was no doubt the occupation, bedside humour something that the EMH lacked. However was it actually a great loss? ”But of course Doctor,” John stated following the CMO to the bio bed, sitting down on it he was then ordered to lie down. Laying there John looked up at the ceiling, in the obvious laying position there was not much alternative. “So, Sir, what ship did you disembark from? What was your last duty assignment? Kinkaid said as he checked his medical database which confirms the information given and inputted it into the ship’s medical log. Kinkaid told the Commander, “Sir, your medical is completed. Will there be anything else my staff can do for you?” Commander Wilson paused for a moment before getting off of the biobed and then spoke to Kinkaid. “Doctor, when was the last time you gave the Captain a medical examination?” Kinkaid was puzzled about the nature of the inquiry into the Captain’s medical examination. ~ The Captain’s medical is confidential and would go against the very foundation of the basic principles of my profession if I released it to someone who is not authorized. ~ Kinkaid thought before answering. “Well, Sir, you know I can not disclose the details of the information to you or anyone else matter of fact, but I can say is that it was two months ago. Doctor / Patient confidentiality; you do understand.” Kinkaid was forward in his response as a doctor to the Commander. His remarks may have been blunt bordering on rudeness, but it was his professional duty to maintain the trust of the crew as ship’s doctor. Commander Wilson raised his eyebrow with Kinkaid’s remarks and said, “Right, also could you tell me more information about what has been going on with the crew recently? I understand you had been to a mirror universe. What happened over there?” Kinkaid asked Commander Wilson to come into his office for a moment to get away from the crowdedness of sickbay. Once inside, Kinkaid thought for a moment before responding. It was hard for him to bring up old images which were emotional ones to Commander Wilson. “Well, Sir, there’s really nothing much to elaborate on other than what is in the Captain’s report to Starfleet Command and my reports to Starfleet Medical.” Kinkaid was thumbing through the sacks of medical reports on his desk as he continued. “At least for me, I did encounter a member from the mirror universe. My medical team was called upon to Ten Forward were Ensign Onyx Kateb was in hand to hand combat with the “evil Fickett”, who hyposprayed Kateb with a powerful sedative which almost killed her. The alternate Fickett, however, died from his wounds that he suffered while combating Kateb.” (Reply XO, Commander Wilson) Kinkaid sat in his chair as Commander Wilson asked other question. “Has all the crew undergone medicals since there return?” Kinkaid remembered his response from the first inquiry and said, “Commander, with no disrespect, all of the ship’s crewmembers have undergone a medical recently in the past two months with that said I can not go any further into details due to Doctor / Patient confidentiality.” As Kinkaid finished his response, Nurse Janet Sanders entered his office. “Doctor Kinkaid, there is a Priority Two message from Starfleet Medical for you on the communication console. It seems to be urgent, Sir.” Kinkaid’s eyes widen as he pondered to what the immediate urgency of the incoming message was and then turn to Commander Wilson. “Sir, my presence is required. This future wife was a doctor and she only to often refer to the ethic. His Intelligence training had covered how to hide immediate feelings from a base scan. However a telepath of that power would no doubt be able to rip though the small defence he could mount. Remaining all smiled John spoke. “Commander Winters, im Commander John Wilson transferred to the Nimitz from Geneva. Here as Executive Officer, Also Ma’am from my understanding you are senior to me. So sir for me would be a most inappropriate terminology, Commander Winters,” John stated smiling, hoping Winters would take it as it was meant as a joke. (Reply Winters) “Commander, is the situation in Engineering Resolved?” (Reply Winters) “Commander, I must ask for a favour soon. If it is not too much trouble some time during the shake down cruise I would like to discuss some matters with you on your previous mission and the events that occurred,” John stated smiling. Smiling was the easiest way in which to hide ones true feelings, a smile was possibly the most covert tactic to hide ones emotions and thoughts. However the Commander was a trained telepath, his only hope was that she was not focusing on him. The telepathic laws would prevent her from doing so, also due to his Intel training and his girlfriend he had experience from being able to ruffley get a feeling on when he was being scanned and being able to hold the person off. The only way some one could break down the blocks he had in place would be to practically rip the thoughts from his mind. Thus leaving him in a useless state, there was a kind of comfort in knowing that no Starfleet officer could do such an action. (Reply Winters) NRPG add more ;-) RPG Turning to the CO once more John smiled and spoke once more. “Captain, might I enquire as to your orders sir?” (Reply Sash) (Reply Winters, Sash, Any) (Posted By Richard Bowes) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash- 15:35) Sash had been happy to sit and talk wih Nessa. He had been tracking Wilson's activities over the course of the day, and he had wanted to bring her into what was going on. The man cerainly got around. he was surprised that he hadn't introduced himself to her. He was about to say something when he saw the man come onto the bridge. Completely ignoring Winters, Wilson went straight to his point. "Captain Sash, with your approval Im going to transfer Constable Dru Tagon from Starbase Geneva to the Nimitz for a temporary basis. The Constable has considerable experience in Tactical and security and I personally require the Constable to assist in my duties." Sash raised an eyebrw at the request, but before he could reply Vanyssa spoke out. "I don't believe that I've met your acquaintance, Sir. My name is Commander Vanyssa Winters, the First Officer of the Nimitz." Sash smiled as he listened to what was most likely behind the niceties of their conversation. Wilson introduced himself and made an off handed comment about the necessity of calling him "Sir." Sash looked at Nessa who returned his look of confussion. "I'm sure that the Commander didn't mean it that way Commander Wilson." Wilson nodded and turned back to Winters, asking about the situaation in engineering. They riefly discussed what was going on and Sash felt he should step back and away. The effort to keep the situation light was becoming increasingly difficult. Finally Wilson looked back to Sash. "Captain, might I enquire as to your orders sir?" "Who me?" Sash said with a smile. "Am I still making desissions on this ship? Well Commander, as far as I know, you are in charge of the intelligence division of this ship, so I will approve anyone that you need. I'm not familiar with Mr. Tagon, but if you vouch for hiim, then he's yours." (reply Wilson) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - FO- Commander Vanyssa Winters- 15:37) "Captain, might I enquire as to your orders sir?" "Who me?" Sash said with a smile. I'm not familiar with Mr. Tagon, but if you vouch for him, then he's yours." Vanyssa got the danger signals from Sash. She stepped between them. "Captain, perhaps the three of us could discuss this in your ready room." Vanyssa glared at Wilson. He wanted to talk with her about the last mission ? Why ? When the three were in his Ready Room and the door was shut, She turned to her longtime friend, and asked "What the heck is going on here ? Since when do we need an Executive Officer ?" She asked, glaring at Commander Wilson. "And Captain, this man is hiding something. You don't have to be empathic to sense that. His body language screams it." And Vanyssa glared even further down her nose, as if he were a naughty schoolchild. She crossed her arms. "And why do you want to talk about the previous mission ? What business is it of yours ?" (reply Sash, Wilson, any) (pb melinda) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Bridge – SFI/XO – Commander John Wilson- 15:37) "Who me?" Sash said with a smile. "Am I still making decisions on this ship? Well Commander, as far as I know, you are in charge of the intelligence division of this ship, so I will approve anyone that you need. I'm not familiar with Mr. Tagon, but if you vouch for him, then he's yours." John smiled the Captain had given him what he wanted. Tagon had worked with him on Geneva and at all times he had remained a professional and loyal. As John was about to speak the First Officer stepped in. "Captain, perhaps the three of us could discuss this in your ready room." The FO took to glaring at him, she was a most disagreeable character and the glaring was getting quite annoying. It came to mind as he looked at her that maybe this powerful telepath was exhibiting power over the Captain. Not many FO’s would order the captain around like so. However at this juncture it would seem the best idea to follow along with her. (USS Nimitz – Captain’s ready Room – SFI/XO – Commander John Wilson – 15:40) The moment they had entered the Captain’s ready room her mighty mouth started again, resisting the temptation to roll his eyes John stood they’re indifferent looking at the two officers. "What the heck is going on here? Since when do we need an Executive Officer?" The glaring continued, as she did this john began to recite Keats in his head just encase she was trying to make a surface scan. "And Captain, this man is hiding something. You don't have to be empathic to sense that. His body language screams it." As she folded her arms, John could not resist and let out a little laugh that was cleverly disgusted as a cough. "And why do you want to talk about the previous mission? What business is it of yours?" John paused for a moment and then cleared his throat; Betazoid always remained a slave to their emotions. John however was not a Betazoid and therefore spoke in a clam manner maintaining his composure. “Captain Sash, permission to speak freely sir?” It was Proberly best at this juncture to reaffirm that Sash was the CO and he was not prepared unlike the FO to get into a slanging match in front of the Captain. (Reply Sash) “Commander, It is none of your business why or for what reason im here. My orders do not specify that im to inform every member of the crew, if the Captain requests so I shall inform him and him alone. On another note Ms Winters some one a lot higher than you deems it necessary to have a XO placed on the Nimitz therefore I have been assigned. I do not intend on stepping on any toes and you do have seniority due to First Officer position. However as far as my intelligence posting is concerned that you have no authorisation to neither neither question me about nor hold me up over. Your job grade does not warrant you to have any access to Intelligence information,” Pausing John straightened his cuffs on his uniform. “What I will offer you is this, I will contact my superiors. If they deem it necessary to give you information on my mission I will relay such. However at the present moment in time im here to act as the executive officer and to assist Captain Sash in any way possible,” (Reply Winters & Sash) (Posted BY Richard) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Ready Room - CO - Captain Devan Sash - 15:40) Sash was a little worried that this meeting wouldn't go so well. This had been the first opportunity to talk to Vanyssa about wilson and he hadn't quite gotten around to it yet. Timing is everything, and Wilson's timng was a bout five minutes off. But since he had no control of that he decide to sit back and see how the two commanders faced off against each other, before he would have to step in. He sat on the edge of his desk with his arms folded across his chest and observed. He let Nessa vent her frustrations. Her points were valid and, of course mirrored his own. He, however, had decided to play this a little closer to the table. ~Let's see what we can get from this Wilson.~ Wilson cleared his throat and looked at Sash. "Captain Sash, permission to speak freely sir?" Sash smiled as if he had been given a concession. "I don't think I could prevent it at this moment, but proceed Commander. Just keep all shots above the belt please." Wilson nodded and began his return of Winter's attack. If nothing else, Wilson could hold his own. He pretty much set Vanyssa straight on where he stood with his position. Sash smiled when he commented, "However as far as my intelligence posting is concerned that you have no uthorisation to neither neither question me about nor hold me up over." As far as Sash was concerned it didn't come out quite right, but he knew what was meant, and Vanyssa didn't say anything so he let it go. "What I will offer you is this," Wilson concluded, "I will contact my superiors. If they deem it necessary to give you information on my mission I will relay such. However at the present moment in time im here to act as the executive officer and to assist Captain Sash in any way possible." He could see Nessa winding up for another volley when he stood up between them. "Okay, okay, okay. Commander Wilson's appearance here today is as much a surprise to me as to anyone else." He fixed Nessa with his eyes. "No matter how anyone feels about it, the orders have been cut, and once the Commander is finished with his responsibilities on Geneva, he will be joining us as our XO and Intelligence Officer." He thought he heard a grunt come from Nessa but ignored it. "Needless to say, we are in need of an intelligence officer in these days. So it's not as if his presence is completely unwaranted." Then he turned to Wilson. "However, Commander, I too get the impression that you are keeping something from me. I will give you this one warning. If, what ever it is, in anyway, endangers this ship, or my crew, I will personally launch you from a torpedo tube. Is that clear?" (reply Wilson) "Now," Sash took a deep breath and put a genuine friendly smile on his face, "with that out of the way, I think you have some arrangements to make. This Mr. Tagon, will he be coming to us in a Starfleet uniform, or as a civilian? What would his "official position" be?" (reply Wilson) "Very well, then," Sash said, "you are dismissed to take care of that." As Wilson turned to leave Sash stopped him with his voice. "By the way Commander, would you care to join Commander Winters and myself for dinner this evening at about 1900?" (reply Wilson) When Wilson was gone Sash turned to Vanyssa and smiled. "Well, what do you think of him?" (reply Winters, Wilson) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Ready Room – XO/SFI – Commander John Wilson - 15:40) "Needless to say, we are in need of an intelligence officer in these days. So it's not as if his presence is completely unwarranted." John did not let his relief show in his face, remaining impartial in features he awaited the Captain to continue. "However, Commander, I too get the impression that you are keeping something from me. I will give you this one warning. If, what ever it is, in anyway, endangers this ship, or my crew, I will personally launch you from a torpedo tube. Is that clear?" John raised an eyebrow and then spoke. “But of course Captain,” "Now,” The Captain smiled, it appeared to be a genuine smile but however something just didn’t sit right with him. "With that out of the way, I think you have some arrangements to make. This Mr. Tagon, will he be coming to us in a Starfleet uniform, or as a civilian? What would his "official position" be?" ”Mr Tagon is out side of the standard chain of command therefore he will be coming at my supervision. He will not be involved in any other department except for Intelligence; his official position will be agent of intelligence. Due to this position he will only be responsible to myself,” John stated attempting to respectfully put the idea that Tagon would only answer to him. "Very well, then," Sash said, "you are dismissed to take care of that." On that John nodded and turned his back beginning to walk out of the Ready room as he reached the door he herd the Captain’s voice once more. "By the way Commander, would you care to join Commander Winters and myself for dinner this evening at about 1900?" ”That would be my pleasure sir!” John stated continuing on his walk he walked right towards the turbolift at the back of the bridge. As the doors sealed in front of him John grinned to him, this might be harder than he thought. (USS Nimitz – Personal Office – XO/SFI – Commander John Wilson – 16:00) John reached his office and slumped down into his seat, as far as first meetings went he had managed to arouse suspicion and place the FO into a hostile position towards him. Locating his stress ball he began to pump his hand attempting to get rid of some of the aggression he had built up. As he did this he looked around at his office, however due to the lay out of the ship his office was also primarily his quarters. They were larger than most to accommodate for the larger space required, however having a separate office was always more useful. Pausing for a moment he looked at the transfer notice he had on his computer ready for sending. Holding his finger over the button he paused like he was frozen unsure if he was making the correct decision. Dropping his finger on the button the message blinked off to be replaced with the black screen.. Sitting back into his seat John bridged his fingers; it was all well and good to have one person on his side. However Tagon like him would be watched like a hawk by winters and Sash, he needed some one beyond suspicion. Looking over the crew roster he had on the pad one name jumped up at him, a new arrival and already bad footing with the captain. John grinned he might be the perfect candidate. However at the present moment in time im here to act as the executive officer and to assist Captain Sash in any way possible." Vanyssa felt Sash's eyes meeting hers before she started in on the fact that this guy was supposably an information officer. "No matter how anyone feels about it, the orders have been cut, and once the Commander is finished with his responsibilities on Geneva, he will be joining us as our XO and Intelligence Officer." Vanyssa resisted the urge to be angry, or mad, and just listened. "Needless to say, we are in need of an intelligence officer in these days. So it's not as if his presence is completely unwaranted." Then he turned to Wilson. "However, Commander, I too get the impression that you are keeping something from me. I will give you this one warning. Vanyssa wished that Sash were as empathic as David was, she was of the opinion he should be launched from the torpedo tubes now, rather than later. She was a little surprised when the Captain invited this..intruder...to share their dinner. "Well, what do you think of him?" Sash asked after Wilson had left the ready room. Vanyssa was already pacing the room. "He's lying." She said simply. "And hiding a lot. He isn't simply an intelligence officer, not like Nishi was." She said, pacing the small confines of the Ready Room. "He has a hidden agenda. I don't know what. And he's loud, telepathically." She said, almost as an afterthought. "Some kind of poetry." She said, shaking her head. "He must have experience with a Betazoid to know that trick." She shook her head, wisps of her red hair falling around her face. "I want Jennah there." Vanyssa said, suddenly. "She's very perceptive, and he might not suspect a child. She would love a chance to meet her rival for Captain's Intelligence Officer." And with that, Vanyssa fell onto the couch, trying very hard not to laugh. "He's so pompous." She said, referring to Wilson. "So...human, in a lot of ways." She then did start to laugh. She then sat up and looked Sash in the eye. "Have you spoken with the Admiral yet ?" She said, referring to their Fleet Commander. (reply Wilson, Sash, any) (pb melinda :-) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Captain's Ready Room - CO/FO - Captain Sash & Commander Winters - 15:46) When Vanyssa told him about the use of poetry as a form of telepathic shielding Sash couldn't help but be impressed. He had employed tunes that you just can't get out your head before, and knew it to be most effective. "I want Jennah there." Vanyssa said, suddenly. "She's very perceptive, and he might not suspect a child. She would love a chance to meet her rival for Captain's Intelligence Officer." Sash chuckled at that. "He's so pompous," Winters said. "So...human, in a lot of ways. "Have you spoken with the Admiral yet ?"" "Not yet. I have a meeting scheduled tomorrow." he picked up a PADD off his desk and sat down beside Nessa. Handing her the PADD he said, "I took took a few liberties accessing the Commander's file. He's had quite a career. He is qualified to be doing the job he is doing and is a very competant officer. I'm not sure what could get him to give up the First Officer position of a Starbase to go touring the universe with us, but there we have it." Sash got very serious. He looked into Vanyssa's eyes. "I want him monitored. Not noticably watched, but monitored. I don't think I'm being paranoid, and I agree with you you, he is up to something. I'd like to know what it is before he gets completely settled in." Vanyssa nodded, wondering how that was going to happen. She didn't have many people on the ship that she trusted, and not many that wouldn't be very obvious that they were. "I'll speak with Kateb. There should be a way to monitor him. Between Kateb and Falthgood, they can come up with most anything." She said, simply. "I also want you to be cooperative with him. Answer his questions, and don't question his motives. I don't think it will do much more than keep him on guard. This is definitely one of those times where you'll catch more flies with honey." Vanyssa nodded again. "If I stop being my usual cheerful self towards him, he'll be confused, and suspect something. I'll gradually change my attitude." "I was also thinking of getting the crew doing something to help them relax. It's amazing how tense people can get when there's little to do. After dinner tonight I suggest that we get the senior staff together for a group activity. I was thinking maybe a scavenger hunt." Vanyssa then began to laugh. "And what, my wonderful Captain, are we scavenging ?" She grinned up at him from the couch. "I used to make these scavenger hunts for the children of my... colony," Sash used the euphamism rather than what it really was, a penal colony for the disenfranchised soldiers of the Angossian wars. "They have to come up with a number of items in a set time. The last item should bring them all to the same spot. It definitely kept them occupied in times of stress and boredom." "Besides," he smiled, "I'd like to see how resourceful some of our people are. Perhaps you could help make up a list of items they could find." The two put their heads together and began plotting the scavenger hunt. Soon their own troubles had eroded away and enjoyment of the event began to take over. (reply none) (posted by Al Muir and Melinda Martin) Stardate:2406.06.20 M(USS Nimitz – Personal quarters – SFI/XO – Commander John Wilson – 16:30) John rose from his desk and straightened his uniform; looking at the photo again John made a mental note of the name and then set off on his way to locate the officer. Logic would dictate that Sash and Winters would Proberly attempt to keep tabs on him. Added to the fact that he did the same to the SFI when he was FO made the possibility even higher, it was practically a certainty. With this in mind he would have to make some new friends to keep him apprised of the situation that was beginning to emerge. It was a poor state of affairs not to know what the enemy was planning, at the present moment he was in the poor state of affairs. As he began to walk down the corridor it felt like a thousand eyes were passing him over watching his every move. It was a sensation that was beginning to make his flesh crawl, SFI never received the warmest of receptions but this was getting chillier than the Antarctic. As he reached the turbolift its doors flung open to reveal two security guards. Pausing for a moment John stepped inside and despite what all his training said he turned his back on the two guards. This was potentially the most stupid thing he had done since arriving on the Nimitz however it was unlikely that he had a mark on him yet. He would Proberly wait till John was not expecting it before sending an attack. (USS Nimitz – Holodeck one – SFI/XO – Commander John Wilson – 16:40) John arrived on the holodeck and then activated his programme; making direct contact to the officer would arouse too much suspicion. It was not as if he could walk on to the bridge and request this officers assistance it would have to be done with a certain level of class and cunning. Activating the dark bar John moved over to the cubical and sat down. Removing the old 1940s hat that sat happily on his head he placed it on the table and altered his black tie. Melodrama was something that was not lost on John and it always proved to be the perfect setting for disorientation. You place any person that is coming expecting one thing in unfamiliar surroundings and dress and the person will immediately become confused. Out of this confusion people were always easier to read and interrogate. Plus it always proved to be more entertaining. He had already sent the coded message bounced through several systems so it could not been traced. It was just a matter of waiting, pausing for a moment John pulled the side of the seat away to reveal the panel. Typing in an access code the warning appeared on the screen. Warning Safety Protocols Disabled John grinned for a moment and then gestured to the waiter in the corner, as the waiter in the tux came over John collected his drink and then nodded. The waiter lowered a dishcloth onto the table, as he walked off John smiled.. Looking around he slowly moved the cloth onto his lap; reaching into its centre he slowly removed the clot 1911. The cold metal felt reassuring as it clicked back and then snapped forward. If the man gave him no other option he would be forced to shoot, with the safeties off on the holodeck even this fake bullet could kill. Placing the gun in the holster under the table John looked around at the holocharacters all in 1940s gear. The fake conversations that they pretended to have always entertained him. They always appeared so real on the outside, however on the inside everything was very different. It was becoming the same for him; on the outside he was still the dutiful officer that had joined Starfleet 12 years ago. On the inside he was becoming more cold and calculated as time progressed. It took him back to the thoughts of old the young fresh ensign that had joined the fleet full of the ideas of a new beginning and fighting the good fight. Intelligence had almost killed him back then, it took its second chance 2 years after that and now he were back in their arms. Something that had almost killed him 3 times now should not be running into their arms. However it was a frightful thing to admit but he missed the life, the danger and the chaos was appealing. As he tilled the glass back and took a sip the memories of old began to force their way to the surface once more. The smell was all too familiar the sour smell and sharpe taste as the whiskey slipped down his throat. NRPG Just thought it would be fun to go into Wilson’s shady past ;-) His bio makes more sense of what happened before this RPG (Earth – London – The Footage – Agent John Wilson – 9 years previously – 16:00) John looked up from the glass he had just drunk and placed his hat back on his head once more. Standing up he felt his legs bow a little, it had took him practically a year to learn to walk again and it still hurt. Stamping his right leg down he felt the floor that little bit better, nodding to the bar keep he began to move towards the exit. As he began to zip his coat up the great big hand of a grunt slammed down on his shoulder. John looked up at the big man and cleared his throat. “Wilson, he wants to see you,” The deep booming voice commanded, john paused for a moment and rubbed his beard. Continuing his walk the grip became stronger on his shoulder. John looked up in to the mans eyes again which shifted from him to the booth in the corner. John nodded and with out saying a word walked over to the booth. As he sweeked over the leather seat he took of his hat again and looked into the eyes of the man that had commanded his presence. “John frightful business that event, we had no idea your shuttle would…” John raised his hand to silence the older man. In Intel he had been taught always be on your guard even against old friends, never let them get an emotional hook into you because you’d never wriggle loose. “Get to the point Blackford,” John replied. “Well John I understand that you are attempting to leave us,” John paused he knew Blackford would already know all the details. Blackford was just doing it to toy with him. “Yes im being reassigned to the fleet as Conn officer on Geneva. Unfortunately it will be like the last 3 years never happened. Ill be going there as an Ensign Jnr,” John stated, Joseph laughed and took another sip of his drink. “Well then I think our business is over then, have a safe trip John,” As Blackford extended his hand to give a final shake John herd the click behind his head. Looking in Blackford’s eyes he saw the pistol getting close to his head. Quickly collecting the knife from the table he swung it back into the hostiles thigh. As he did he grabbed the pistol and pointed it at Blackford’s head, Blackford looked up at him and spoke calmly. “You cant kill me Johnny, I made you, I trained you,” Blackford stated. John paused for a moment looking down the barrel of the Intel pistol. It was a phaser but shrank down and in the form of a pistol; it had proved to be a lot more effective in Intel situations. However the current situation did not really leave time to contemplate the heritage of the pistol he was holding to his old bosses head. As he tried to pull the trigger he found he couldn’t do it, trying once more he pushed the phaser harder against the mans skull. Gritting his teeth his entire being knew that if the situation were reversed Blackford would not do the soul searching he was doing. Pulling on the trigger gently John slammed the phaser against Blackford’s head. As he looked at the unconscious Blackford John paused as he turned on his heel to leave as he did he herd the click. The next thing he felt was the bolt striking his back and throwing him forward onto the ground. This was it he never knew who had shot him. (USS Nimitz – Holodeck – SFI/XO – Commander John Wilson – 16:40) John grinned to himself obviously he was not that easy to kill, as he took another drink he looked up at the person standing to his side. Smiling he gestured for them to have a seat. “I have a opportunity for you,” (Reply Person,) (Posted By Richard) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – Holodeck – SFI/XO & TAC/SC – Commander John Wilson & Ensign Onyx Kateb – 16:46) “I have a opportunity for you,” John stated to the woman, as she spoke again he smiled attempting to place her at ease. "It would depend on what exactly... I didn't understand why I was sent here until that incident which turn into an inquisition not so long ago." "I sent for you for a reason that will quickly become clear, please sit down Kateb," John stated feeling uncomfortable with people standing they were after all harder to shoot. They had the knack of attempting to run. "I'm rather busy, you have to make this quick." She sat down and looks around. "You can stop pointing that primitive weapon on me." John smiled and raised an eyebrow, placing both hands on the table he smiled. She was better than most, however the gun was happily sitting in its holster. He could draw it from under the table at any point and he knew that. "Onyx Kateb, Born on earth in Akron, Ohio. Your mother was an acamarian and died a year after our birth. You have barely any living relatives. Your record in Starfleet is impressive and your flight skills are second to none," John stated reciting the file of hers that he had committed to memory. "Current assignment Chief of Security," "Yes... that is the funny part. I had to play dumb for a lot of people. I think I did pretty well... so what do you want to know?" Onyx sat back on her chair, cross her legs and her arms. She put her entire attention on him. John grinned again as he got her attention, she was a rather attractive young female. If he wasn’t in his current marital status he might have made a run for her but however mixing business and pleasure never went well. "I have a job opportunity for you Onyx, I can call you Onyx cant I?" "In private yes. It depends on the job, I'm walking on a very narrow line here." "Well the job is totally what you are suited for. You served with Klingons if im correct?" "I did for 6 months. I have been adopted." "Perfect, as you are no doubt aware at the present moment im Chief of Intelligence on the Nimitz. Part of my duty is to recruit persons whom I deem could prove to be an asset to the community. With our current position so close to the Klingons and your past history you are an ideal operative," John paused for a moment. "In essence Onyx im offering you agent grade in intelligence," Onyx was surprised. "I'm a bit surprised, intrigued, and I must admit... a bit interested." She was looking straight into his eyes, so far, he was telling the truth. John dropped his smiled to a more serious posture, leaning more towards her he lowered his voice. "You would not be officially affiliated with Intelligence so if ever anything happened to you, you would be disavowed and left. It is the same for all of us, you get captured you are dead to us. I want you to be aware it is not glamour’s nor a good life, it is hard and difficult. However from what I have seen of you Onyx you would do fine," John stated smiling. "Would you like to accept the job, it is optional. However once you have signed up they own you till dead do you part," John stated on a sombre note. "You are talking of your group and not talking about the work... It's not encouraging to accept." Onyx wasn't impress with is tone, actually she expected it. "The work is the best bit of it, on the ship your duties are simple continue as you have been doing except with some additions. Which I can only inform you off if I receive a yes. When not on duty on shore leave etc you will run operations with me. Due to your Klingon links it will involve negotiation with Klingon operatives and possible infiltration of the Klingons to protect the fleet. In addition you will be available for me to call on as necessary," "Can you answer me one question?" She uncrossed her legs and her arms and lean forward. "Go ahead," John stated bridging his fingers. "Who murdered Klingon High Councillor G’Rhor... my adoptive father?" "I honestly don’t know however what I can say is if you ask me to find out for you I will do and you will have a answer in 24 hours," John stated honestly not knowing the answer. "I will say yes to your offer and this is the condition... I know that 2 Klingons talked of murdering him, I have their voice recorded and I want to know who order his death. He was the only man who knew me, and cared about me... I owe him this." "Give me the recording and I will give you a answer. Also since you’ve accepted the job here goes some other information. I need you to watch Sash and Winters, both of them are up to something and I don’t plan on letting them continue their ways," John stated. "You will have the recording tonight... I'm not sure when I will be free. Captain Sash and Winters, they know each other from way back... the one you should be worried also is Falthgood!" "At the moment our concern is Sash and Winters, intelligence is concerned due to the mirror universe and the effects it had upon the crew. Falthgood is already a issue that is going to be addressed," John stated sounding definitive on the Falthgood issue. He did not know all the facts but knew Falthgood might have appeared excentric but there was more to him than meets the eye. "I can bet my bottom dollar that the Captain will ask me to keep an eye on you. There was an incident already about that, but the Captain doesn't seem to be affected by it. He cuts corners but there are no captains that didn't do that from time to time. Winters got invaded by the "Spirit" of the evil Kestra, it was pretty risky business, nearly lost my life in this little adventure fighting the alternate Fickett." "Hum so you would assume that Winters would be effected by this greatly? Also if they do give the order for you to watch me I want you to do it. However I want you to send me all files that are going about me so I can edit certain things," "Winters, not anymore, the evil got exorcised by a betazoid expert. He managed to restore her what worried me is how she treated Kestra Troi... jealousy. There might be something between Winters and Sash... I'm the first one to admit, he is a handsome male. For the files, there are no problems." She smiled. ~A bit like you are! ~ She thought John grinned she was going to be a useful ally, in her position she was a beyond investigation because she ran the investigations. It would be difficult for the CO to order her to investigate herself. "Well Onyx all I have to say now is welcome aboard," John stated standing and extending his hand. As he looked into her eyes he half expected the pistol to be against his head once more however it was not. "Thank you!" She said has she took his hand. ~Just be careful... I don't like to be betrayed. ~ "So as you said you are a busy lady, so over the next couple of weeks we will be giving you extra training totally off record though Onyx. Thank you for your help," "Yes, busy me... Got to go... I have an investigation to run." Onyx got up and went straight to the holodeck doors. "Exit!" As she left John paused for a moment and pulled the gun from beneath the table. As the waiter moved over he held out the tray, as John placed the gun on top of it John did not look into the waiter’s eyes. He did become aware of the waiter unbuttoning his shirt and then coughing to gain his attention. "What do you think Blackford?" John asked keeping his eyes focused on the doors she had left through. "She has potential, but to start with we all do Johnny," Blackford replied. (Reply None) (Posted By Richard & Laurence) Stardate:2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz – On the move – TAC/SC Ensign Kateb – 1700)   Onyx walk out of the holodeck and made her way to her quarters. She look around as she walked in, she like her quarters. She went to her big cactus well settled by the window, for once it was blooming. She took the time to smell the flower then turn around and went to her bedroom.   She took from the nightstand the first drawer, flip the contents of it on the bed. Stuck underneath was an isolenear ship. She put it in her pocket and put everything back in the drawer, either way, it was a mess and after walk out to go to the bridge.   (USS Nimitz – Bridge – 1707)   Onyx walked to her console, settled there after she dismissed the officer there. Dema and Slytherwald weren't there so she made a copy of the files contained in the isolenear ship to another ship and put them both in her pocket. At the same time, she was looking at the security status and reports. Something was going on and it involved Falthgood and that marine officer.   ~Was that marine officer really dead?~   (Reply from anyone) (Posted by Laurence) Stardate:2406.06.20 Mission: The Daily Grind Mission Day:1 Stardate: 2406.06.20   (USS Nimitz - CSO's office - Ensign Saleke, CSO - 17.20)   Saleke scrolled down the list of reports and was pleased.   ~The former Chief L. Falthgood whose place I am taking was very thorough, there is much that needs to be reviewed but it is well catalogued and up-to-date. It shouldn't take me more than three days to familiarize myself with current activities and that is assuming a constant flow of reports and less time of course if there is a lull during repairs.~    An entry by Chan Kenishi caught his attention.    " Hmmm." Geological samples taken from an asteroid showed high levels of neutrinos.   Saleke had majored in geology at the Vulcan Academy of Arts and Sciences before enrolling in Star Fleet and had several sections taken from core samples that were released to him from the Nahru's labs and were even now in his carryall.   He considered the abnormal readings.    ~Neutrinos don't normally appear in large concentrations outside of a high-energy source. ~   The coordinates where the sample was taken were listed simply as being in the "Anomaly". After looking the report over thoroughly Saleke was intrigued and said, "Computer list reports containing key word Anomaly from past four weeks." The computer listing showed 130 reports on file mentioning the Anomaly. Saleke's right eyebrow climbed up his forehead as he read down the list of files. He opened a file headed Sub-space/Temporal rifts from 2406.06.08, 12:18, Ensign Carlton and began reviewing the data there.   Saleke had hardly begun reading the report when his combadge beeped, having activated it he heard the voice of Captain Sash.   =^= Sash to Saleke. =^=   Saleke answered. =^= Yes Captain, Saleke here. =^=   =^= Ensign Saleke, please report to my Ready Room. =^=   =^= Affirmative Captain, I am on my way.=^= Saleke replied. Having tapped the Combadge to disengage it the Vulcan set his half-empty glass of orange juice down on the desk and rose to his feet, as he got up he said, "Computer save current profile under Saleke 1a and disengage screen."   Having stepped around his carryall he walked through the door and turned left past several labs and offices before reaching the turbolift. He nodded to a tecnician who was leaving the lift and having stepped inside said. "Deck 1." Five decks doesn't take long for the turbolift and Saleke soon felt it stop, when the door whooshed open he stepped out onto the bridge. Now his final Academy exam had been on the USS Lantry in Holodeck 4 which was a Sovereign Class vessel but even as real as that simulation had been it had always been in the back of his mind that it was still a simulation. Here however was the real thing and the moment seemed charged with potential. No one was in the command chairs of course as the Captain was waiting for him in the Ready Room and there was only a skeleton crew but Saleke felt tempted to stand there for a moment and watch, there wasn't time however so he moved to the Ready Room door and pressed the chime. At the Captain's summons he stepped inside. Giving his best parade ground salute he said. "Ensign Saleke reporting for duty Captain!"   (Reply: Captain Devan Sash) (Posted by Charles Gatling)   Stardate:2406.06.20 Mission: The Daily Grind Mission Day: 1 Stardate: 2406.06.20 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 17:25) Sash was standing behind his command chair. Ever since the arrival of Commander Wilson he had a nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach. He tried to ignore it, but it would not go away. Finally he took to pacing. He had not requested an executive officer, but was happy to have all of the experienced help he could get. There was a beep o his console and he sat down to see what it was. The computer spole to him. [Ensign Saleke is in his ofice awaiting orders.] Sash pulled up Saleke's file and saw that he was his new Science Officer. He tapped his comm badge. "Sash to Saleke." He had just begun to relax from the day. he took a deep sigh and called out, "Come." A Vaulcan walked into the room and planted himself firmly to give a salute. "Ensign Saleke reporting for duty Captain!" The captain was taken slightly by surprise. It had been a while since someone saluted him. "At ease Ensign, I'm not as military as my file paints me to be." (reply Saleke) Sash offered him the chair across from his desk. As the Vulcan sat he leaned forward. "I'd like to welcome you to the Nimitz Ensign. How hav eyou found your acomodations." (reply Seleke) "We're in a unique situation right now. Our current CSO was only assigned that positiontemporarily. I'm sure he'll be happy to know that Starfleet has finally given him the relief from administrative duties. "I understand you have an expertice in geology and," he looked on his computer screen, "interplanetary life forms? Saleke relaxed and said "Thank you Captain, however I believed the gesture of respect to be appropriate for the occasion." When the Captain offered him a chair Saleke slipped into it with a nod and took the opportunity to examine the room a bit as Sash was speaking. The decor was tasteful and immaculate as one would expect from an Executive officer and the desk gleamed. The Captain himself was a dynamic man in person and the Vulcan was immediately impressed.  "I'd like to welcome you to the Nimitz Ensign. How have you found your acomodations?" Sash said.   "The office will be serviceable Captain however my orders did not contain the location of my quarters and as I have not accessed the crew assignments from the computer as of yet I have not seen them. I am certain however they will be more than adequate."      Sash continued. "We're in a unique situation right now. Our current CSO was only assigned that position temporarily. "Geology is my original area of study Captain, I grew enamored with the science as I traveled with my parents on their scientific expeditions and it is still my main area of interest. The term interstellar tends to be misleading. On Terra, Sol system where the Academy is located the science was at one time called extraterrestrial life forms and dealt with any sentient beings found beyond that planet. As they came into contact with others races however and found that the explored sections of this one galaxy alone teem with an abundance of undiscovered life forms the term has become passe` and interstellar refers to any life forms discovered. The science itself is of course far too vast to study exhaustively in only a few years and I have decided to commit much of my time to it. I spent a short internship on the Trill homeworld and I find the relationship between host and symbiote on both the neural and psychological levels to be a fascinating field. I noticed Captain that one of those I will be working with is a Trill and  also noticed the presence of both a Cairn and Gerratlian aboard ship and intend on making their acquaintance as soon as my workload allows. Saleke walked forward a few feet before stopping for a moment to absorb the sights and sounds. Taking only a moment to indulge himself he then turned on his heel and headed for the turbolift.   "Deck six," Saleke said. After stepping off the lift Saleke turned into the first lab he came to, the plaque said "High Energy Physics" and walked out a moment later with an office chair he had appropriated from its interior. At that Q'Luka grabbed his head and was plainly suffering a headache. "Are you feeling ok?" "I am fine sir. Thank you." "You should see a doctor and if they don't find anything you should come to me and unload. It's not a crime to come and see, has friends, not patient." Rose knew that klingon had hard times admitting that they needed a ear to listen. So frienship was a nice idea that she hoped he would accept as such. Q." Alexandra give a sign to Tarz to stay where he was, has she took the roses. Q faked an expression of complete astonishment before adopting a thick southern accent from Earth, he had found some of the Human linguistic forms extremely humerous however had yet to select a favourite. "Why Miss Lowell i am impressed, how did you guess it was little ol me?" Q clicked his fingers instantly changed his appearance in a flash of blue light so that the dsco style clothing was replaced by a Starfleet admirals uniform. "I would have known if there had been a replicator malfunction, and considering the description of how those men were disguised just told me. Why are you here Q?" He altered accent again to one of his favourites, a strong English accent from the 15th century on Earth "Captain compliments that poor will not get you anywhere. With regards to why i am here, well best not to spoil the surprise ... just yet." Q clicked his fingers again vanishing completely from the Cochrane. Alexandra sigh not of relief but wondering what would happen next has she look at the crew around her. He just manage to kill my mood." Alexandra look around, the music had stop like everyone. "Ok everyone, he is gone and we can restart the party, music please. Come on you two and also you Fugan go back to the party." Fugan nodded in reply however quickly decided not to return to the celebrations, logically preparing for the exploits of this entity would be significantly more beneficial although given the unpredictable nature of the Q it would be considerably difficult. He returned to his seat at the bar to collect the PADD on which he had recorded his observations before he departed Club Diva heading towards his quarters to change his clothing into the substantially more suitable Starfleet uniform. (USS Cochrane - Bridge - 1435) Fugan relieved the officer in charge so that he could attend the festivities before taking a seat at an LCARS terminal towards the rear of the considerably empty bridge. "Computer display all files regarding the Q entities." [Security Clearance Required] "B'Lanor alpha-omega eight-six-three" [Accessing] Fugan began to read over the myriad of files concerning the Q, curious to establish if there were a motive for the visitation of the entity, or any other information which may prove of usefulness. Tahl was beside her, holding her hand, she knew that part of him was happy and the other wasn't, even a bit afraid. She turn her face toward him, gave him a little smile. "Let's get out of her... we have to talk and I think it's right now the best of times to do that." (Reply from Tahl) Alexandra and Tahl walked out of the bar and to the nearess turbolift. "CO/FO quarter!" She didn't know where to start, and the silence was starting to weigth a lot. "Computer, stop turbolift.!" Alexandra turn to Tahl. "I know that LoDona ask you to go to his ship and from the vibes... it wasn't for congratulating us about are engagement. Am I wrong?" She couldn't say if it was her pregnancy that was playing tricks or if it was her senses, but she decided to speak up anyway. "Actually I do have to say something. There's something off, I don't know why but I know it's not right. I can't say why only that I can sens it. I don't know if Lt. Kara does to." (Reply from Kara) "I preconise caution. If the Nautilus and Cochrane go to the planet and scout ahead. Once we have secured the area Geneva can come along. If they do require aid Geneva will have infinitely more resources than the Cochrane and Nautilus. Of course Captains if is at your discressions,” John stated. She replayed the message twice and obviously something huge had happen also there wasn't enough voice for the computer to make a clear identification. "For my part, I think it's a good plan. Obviously something has happen, true that it can be a trap but we will not know until we go. The question left would be when do we leave. Once back on the Cochrane, we could be ready in 5 to 10 minutes." Alexandra look at her crew and said. "Anything to add to this? any hypothesis?" "You are henceforth assigned to the Nimitz as CSO with a commission as Ensign Senior Grade, report to Captain Devan Sash." Admiral Jopek had said. As Saleke picked up the yellow pip from the Admiral's desk he hoped the emotions boiling inside him were not mirrored upon his face.   ~ CSO on the Nimitz! ~ He thought. ~ Unexpected is hardly the word to describe this posting. ~ Saleke was not surprised that he had not received the assignment he had requested on the Boudicca, after all few Cadets did; but the Nimitz! A Sovereign Class vessel with a highly respected Captain and a good crew! Saleke had never considered the possibility of landing such a "Plum Post" in the human vernacular. And not only was the Nimitz listed as an exploration vessel but he had been given oversight of the entire Science Department! He looked up in time to see the Admiral lift his hand in the ancient Vulcan salute,"You have a shuttle to catch Ensign, Live long and prosper."    The ritual nature of the gesture helped Saleke focus as he returned the salute. "And to you Admiral, Live long and prosper."   All the way back to his room he had fought an internal struggle and when he finally arrived at his room and was safe behind the locked door he lowered his control for a few minutes to release his pent up feelings. After wiping his face he had noticed there were messages left on the communications console and found they were congratulations from his family, no doubt Jopek had notified the Vulcan Consulate of his promotion as soon as it was official and they in turn had notified his parents aboard the Nahru as well as his sister on Vulcan, the message from his brother was absent but he served on a remote outpost so Saleke was sure he had not yet heard.. He did not have time to answer them as he packed quickly and only after he was settled aboard the warp shuttle awaiting takeoff did he allow himself to relax. After the craft entered space he patched into its communications and sent his replies. Saleke considered himself fortunate that his parents were not as many Vulcans still were and were supportive of his decision to forge a career in Star Fleet. As the shuttle neared the Starbase he returned to the present and saw the silhoutte of a ship began to grow in the window, because it was the only one of its kind in the spacedock he knew without a doubt it was the one he sought. In his studies of alien life forms he had come across a certain reference many times which was most obvious in human literature, the sighting of one's first assigned ship that took on an almost magical quality in the telling.Though it had suffered damage and was even now being swarmed by repair crews Saleke began to understand the reference. The registry came into sight as the shuttle turned toward the docking bay.   NCC 7578E USS Nimitz   Saleke settled back in his seat as the craft decelerated and nodded his head. "I understand now," he whispered, "Fascinating!"   (USS Nimitz - Chief Science Officer's Office - Ensign Saleke, CSO - 17:20)   Saleke had strode through the boarding tube and headed for the turbolifts, inside he said, "Deck 6." and waited as it took him to his destination. Once it had stopped he exited and made for the Chief Science Officer's Office and after arriving he set down his carryall and looked around. The office was spartan and unadorned containing only a desk with computer screen and controls, a chair for the desk, a replicator upon the wall and a long, three teired bookcase. Everything was empty and he had brought few momentoes. He resolved to order another chair from stores as he planned on having a numbeer of get acquainted meetings with the personnel in his department if time permitted. He walked to the relicator and said, "Orange juice, chilled, with pulp." He had grown to enjoy the exotic tasting fruit juice during his time at the Academy. After taking the cold glass from the replicator he walked to his desk and sat down. Since his orders did not include the deck or room he would be staying in on the Nimitz he decided to make the office his base until he heard from the Captain. Reaching forward he activated the computer. "Computer"   [Working]   "This is Saleke, Ensign Senior Grade, CSO, assigned to the Nimitz reporting in. Please notify Captain Devan Sash that I am aboard in my office and awaiting orders. In the interim display unopened logged departmental reports."   (Reply: Captain Devan Sash) (Posted by Charles Gatling)
